And its interesting to see Ferrari allowed Fry to talk to media, this suggests he is talking fluff about the car to turn the attention away from the feud between Alonso and Massa.stefan_ wrote:I'm tired of all this rumors, suppositions and people predicting how the car will run after seing some pictures.

Who gave it such a name, what does it do, where is it, did ferrari give a statement confirming that it is being used, what's the difference with a normal floor,
how do you identify it when it was used?
What evidence, if any, such as photos, statements, suggest this is an actual special floor and not an ordinary floor being spun up into something to carry over the ferrari car thread into the season opener?
All these questions need to be answered before we all jump in on this Byrne floor myth.
Relating to the exhausts, they need to lose the coat tails off the sidepods and do a sauber design for a short term solution. This is the easiest to understand path.
I have a feeling their flat top nose coupled with the step, as well as the tails on the side pods are destabilizing the car in some instances.
All in all i am blaming Fry. He brought his mclaren mumbo jumbo to ferrari. Mclaren clearly are recovering from the mumbo jumbo years, and it's no coincidence he's not in the team. He seems to have a way of over complicating things as talented as he is.
The new car screams mclaren over complication, or should i say fry over complication. I think they can solve the problems though. They just need to tone down the side pods and put a redbull vent in the step of the nose to settle the stability. The rest of the chassis is very good. especially the tail and the frontal side pod region.
First off, Byrne has been working on the car & word was he made/designed a new floor. Now other rumors popped up that suggested it was this & that, but that doesn't take away from the fact they ran a new floor & diffuser. Did Byrne make it? I don't know. Don't much care. But don't sit here and act like there was no difference in the floors that were ran. If you would take the time to compare them, you will see that distinctly different floors were used during testing.Froggolo wrote:ringo wrote:Byrne floor. Aye aye aye!!

i (sadly)agree with ringo,
the Byrne floor, mythologic object advertised by many sites and users,
seems to be in different material rather than carbon,
simply because it is invisible:P
during the tests there were 2 kind of diffusers visibly different,
and the floor didn't show any big difference.
Ok, is more shiny, could have a different kind of finish,
this could also be due to a different kind of carbon fibre what gives different reflections,
but visibly, was nothing clearly "revolutionary" or different
as for example the new RB8 exhausts and floor/diffuser.
