Wasn't a large number of drivers and teams critical of those sausage curbs the FIA insisted on using for track limits, saying those were dangerous since cars got damaged regularly? The FIA's snarky response was always "just stay on track" ... whoopsie

Time to go back to gravel or grass track edges, then we won't need sausage curbs or officials to police track limits!

yes it looks like it caught the leading edge doesn't it, then the first section of kerb hinged up being braced against the second section.

I couldn’t tell! Granted I’m not listening on a device with good sound so it’s hard to tell if it’s actual commentary- as I’m not familiar with F1TV- but I would have been surprised if it was an actual broadcaster rather than someone at home reacting. But that is one of those moments which prompts an instinctive reaction like Murray Walker’s famous ‘OH GOD!’ at Spa.

It’s amazing he was able to walk away from that crash, and that no track personnel were injured. I’ve not been a fan of the halo either, but after seeing that it’s hard to argue against it. Enjoy the race gents.
