Wasn't a large number of drivers and teams critical of those sausage curbs the FIA insisted on using for track limits, saying those were dangerous since cars got damaged regularly? The FIA's snarky response was always "just stay on track" ... whoopsie
Time to go back to gravel or grass track edges, then we won't need sausage curbs or officials to police track limits!

tea tray under the curbs floor mounting?
yes it looks like it caught the leading edge doesn't it, then the first section of kerb hinged up being braced against the second section.

Then he landed upside down right on the barrier. Halo, got to love it O:) O:) O:) O:)

Wow. That's incredible, just from running over that curb. That's a big plus one for the halo right there, regardless of how ugly it may look.
Lucky boy. Yet another reminder of just how dangerous motor racing can be in an instant, even from innocuous looking circumstances with no other cars involved.

Is that the actual commentator on F1TV saying 'Holy ---'?!

No, probably from the guy who recorded the clip.

Either that or they have a microphone in my living room. Hence why I posted it on here too.

Halo. Still have any questions about it? No. Good. Moving on then...

I couldn’t tell! Granted I’m not listening on a device with good sound so it’s hard to tell if it’s actual commentary- as I’m not familiar with F1TV- but I would have been surprised if it was an actual broadcaster rather than someone at home reacting. But that is one of those moments which prompts an instinctive reaction like Murray Walker’s famous ‘OH GOD!’ at Spa.

Woah. Apparently you lose 2 laps if wide in the last corner. Your current lap and the next lap because you get a bonus for by being straighter earlier. That could be costly in qualifying!

It’s amazing he was able to walk away from that crash, and that no track personnel were injured. I’ve not been a fan of the halo either, but after seeing that it’s hard to argue against it. Enjoy the race gents.

I thought it was a collide with a car but no. It is fia's track limiter. They can do this with sensors or something different.
