Because too much data and analysis time makes things as predictable and boring as hell.

Hello everyone and welcome to the 2021 F1 season.

I for one am happier with the shorter sessions because less of the cars sitting around in the garage...more jam packed sessions.

Biggest surprise in terms of pace is Alpine at the moment...
:?:
I did not see any surprising in FP1. We expected McLaren, Ferrari, AR to move up due to the engine, AM to move down due to copy issues. With this in mind Alpine is not strongly away from wherer they are expected.

It looks like McLaren Ferrari Red Bull and Mercedes have formed their own group. The rest are just scrapping for points.
That would be great if true. We need a competitive season were numerous drivers can win a race.

Looking at most comments here thus far, it appears there is a lot of worry that Mercedes don't have their usual 1 second advantage and they don't want a competitive season but more of the same Mercedes domination.

Do you expect teams to do more race simulation in P2 or qualy one (being P" the session with more similar track condition to Q and race)?
With time P1 and P2 lasting 30 minutes less than previously maybe they have to choose. Do you agree?

Interesting that, isn't it. I don't see why it's not just constant the whole time. (New season same old gripes!) Is this the corner last season where first it wasn't enforced, then it was, then the drivers complained so it wasn't again?

I hope that what we can see in FP1 is real and RB can compete with Mercedes and beat them. But I won´t beliveve a word until , at least, tomorrow.

It is said Lewis is the GOAT but his fans seemingly have little faith that he can do it without the car advantage.
According to some forumers "if mercedes were beaten this season that means they are at peak level of their sandbagging strategy and they hide their hand even if it cause losing WCC. otherwise their car is fastest around..."

None of this is relevant to this race thread. This is the race thread for the 2021 Bahrain GP.

Moderator note..... AGREED. The season has barely started yet the Hamilton fanboys and Hamilton detractors are at it already ! Why not post sensibly and on topic, otherwise your posts will mysteriously find their way into the rubbish bin , just as some have alreasdy done so.

What?
I'm not sure either, but certainly Hamilton did not take a competent but inferior car to the WDC in 2012. Despite four wins and seven podiums, Hamilton was still 91 points shy of the title. The championship winner (Vettel) only managed five wins and ten podiums, so in theory Hamilton & McLaren could have been in contention... For some reason Hamilton scored 5 DNFs, I can't remember what they were for.
In fairness, his car broke down a lot. There were definitely some races (Spa, Melbourne, Germany, Malaysia spring to mind) where he arguably had the car to win the race - and his teammate sometimes outperformed him - but there was also a good proportion of reliability that scuppered his chances.

Don't forget Singapore, gearbox failure while leading the race!
