Yeah, they take it in 6th gear and on the straight they go into 7th I believe.marcush. wrote:flat yes..but didn´t they change up a gear thenafter the corner?

The fuzz is the drivers of the other teams who cannot believe that RBR can take that corner flat. It just shows the incredible amounts of downforce they have in quick corners. I think it's quite amazing. Look up the onboard footage and compare, Ferrari/Mercedes/McLaren with the RedBull in turn 8, its amazing.marcush. wrote:so what is the fuzz about some taking the corner flat and some not ..they do not have the same gear ratio anyways..and possibly not even the same rpm limit ,pending on the mileage of the engine ..
Maybe not, but the amazed reactions by all the other drivers means more to me than a guy on a forum talking about gear ratio'sraymondu999 wrote:Well it's besides the point but I don't think that saying a car takes a turn flat is saying anything. If (this is only an example and not talking of the RB6) let's say the bulls had the same ratio in 6th gear as the other teams' 1st gear, then that wouldn't be very amazing, would it? (Not saying they don't have downforce, just that saying they take it flat out full throttle isn't saying much as it's not quite a quantifiable thing by what we can see or can learn.
All teams are required to provide their gear ratios to FIA. So I presume that the RBRs sixth gear ratio is openly known. Other drivers who are aware of it, are the ones who are surprised. And dont forget, revs are limited at 18k, so given that top speeds are very similar, it would be safe to assume that the ratios in all cars, including top gear, are almost identical.raymondu999 wrote:Well it's besides the point but I don't think that saying a car takes a turn flat is saying anything. Not seeing how A would lead to B.gilgen wrote:All teams are required to provide their gear ratios to FIA. Alonso had the "new" chassis for the race in Monaco. The chassis from practice that he crashed in was deemed to be a write-off/permanently damaged.elise787 wrote:So, the F10 is way off the pase. Did Alonso get a new chassis after the crash in Monaco?
C'mon MX, it can be easily seen this is practice)))mx_tifosi wrote:Was that during qualy? How can you tell which tyres everyone was on? In/out laps? Hot laps?
