Yeah, if they can't help falling down like rocks in water better hold up others, eh?
Yeah, it's called racing strategy. If they're not going to defend their position, might as well not even race

If the Mercedes didn't "eat the tyres for breakfast" it would be the best car both in qualifying and probably the race too. Not hard to be Champion when you have that equipement, is it ? At least that's what we say when others do it with a car that good.

If he does not mess the start tomorrow like in the last race it will be an interesting race, he needs to pick up points from Seb starting right now if he wants to keep the title chances alive. I hope he and Lotus or Ferrari can, or else Vettel will fly to his fourth WDC.

Another PR stunt lap for AMG&HAM! It's so ridiculous to persist for quali pace only and then fall off the cliff and be nowhere in the race... It just ruins everybody else's chances other than RBR who are closest to them.

I think today he got pole while Vettel had the better car, the gap between Lewis and Rosberg is very telling. I hope Mercedes will improve their race pace and tyre problems, but I do not think they will. Sadly, I see title number 4 for Seb unless Alonso can do something special.

My point was more that now Lewis has adapted, they have a driver that can compete and outperform everyone else on the grid to a extent where he could win the WDC. The only thing they need to fix is the tyre problems.

The gap between Vettel and Webber was even bigger... just kidding

I don't know, lately is as if Mercedes downplay the chances of getting pole and don't show their hand until the last moment. Lewis was incredible and I hope he wins tomorrow, dont get me wrong, but to get 7 poles for in the last 8 races the car must be real fast.

Right, I think probably everyone would agree that the Merc was the fastest qualifying car right up until testing last week. I would tend to agree that the RBR looked like the faster car, it just didn't quite get pushed as close to its capabilities.

Must agree with that. Seems like Vettel didn't have as good a middle sector as the car was capable of doing.
He said as much in the interview.

Oh dear. I need to prepare myself mentally for yet another weekend where Lewis pulls out a stunning lap in qualifying in order to finish somewhere near 5th or even worse in the race. :(

On the bright side: Mercedes haven't lost their one-lap pace. =D>

:D
Would have been interesting to see how Webber would have done.

Mercedes do have the best qualifying car but I think Red Bull or Vettel at least had the best car today. Lewis winning 7-3 against a driver of Rosberg's talent is no mean feat. I think now Lewis is more used to the car, he is showcasing his real talent as a driver.

I do think Mercedes downplay their chances at times, but I think Lewis legit did shock them and everyone today.

Some clouds in GP2 race and track temperature went down, if something like that happens tomorrow (or the opposite) it may get mildly interesting.

Yeah, why would you try to defend your position? #-o
