But in my eyes it's a good trade.
The bulk in the lower middle section doesn't hurt nearly as much since air is turbulent in that area anyway and no meaningful aerodynamic device will suffer seriously from that bulk. The Monkey Seat might take a small hit but that's a crappy aerodynamic device anyway (terrible l/d ratio).
Bulk in the lower rear floor section in contrast will mess up the efficiency of your diffuser. The diffuser is the aerodynamic device with the best l/d Ratio, by order of Magnitude for that matter.
Even the oil cooler will only slightly disturb airflow to the central section of the rear wing. Again the least effcient part of it anyway.
