Hope to see race simulations in the table soon. Hopefully the team will be able to keep 2-3 on pace throughout the season.

From the team's live commentary.

It's been a good day, the long run pace looked promising but plenty to do this evening and tomorrow morning. We'll leave the commentary there, and come back 15 minutes before the start of FP3 tomorrow. That begins at 1530 local / 1330 CET / 1230 GMT – but stick with us this evening, the drivers will be along shortly with their views on Fri… Thursday in Bahrain.

Now that is something I want to see
Considering Bahrain doesnt suit Mclaren yet I see us in a battle for all positions from 1 to 6. Mclaren might be missing 1 or 2 tenths of one lap pace but it seems that the car is better on race pace. If and I say if this where each stands then I would say let the games begin.

We don’t know engine modes but normally McLaren never run the engine hard during FP. Quietly optimistic considering the nature of this track.

For Lando the initial 37s, he spent time behind Ocon for around 3-4 laps until he overtook him

From what I could see (I couldn't really be 100% focused on it), Piastri was doing similar numbers to Verstappen and he followed him on track (about 5 seconds behind). It didn't look like he was falling back that much. Lando seemed a tiny bit slower but he was behind Ocon for a while and then did an overtake. After that he gapped him.

Hopefully I am not jumping to conclusions but this looks like pace team thought they will have before testing.

Everyone else seemed a bit slower - either having more deg or just lapping at a slower pace. The gaps don't seem big but it was consistent. We will see what do analysis people say after tonight.

I hope they weren't carrying less fuel than others, but that said, team confirmed the pace was promising. They have the full picture, so fingers crossed.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Still think we are holding a bit back on the power unit side, but I guess everyone is a bit. Long runs look promising though, excited for tomorrow!

And how many bad attitudes there have been on the forum.😁

I was watching onboard with Lando during his race stint simulation. The 37.4 and 37.1 were heavily influenced by being stuck behind Ocon. After he overtook him, Lando went back to 36.9, before going back into the 37s.

Tha car looks really good in the middle sector. Better than what I was expecting. Traction out of turn 10 looked consistently good as well.
On the other hand: a few times the car was being a bit lazy at corner entry for turn 13, though.
