I think the "something new" was a mistranslation by gpblog (typical).
Have found the source article in Austrian and he says "we won't try anything new until Barcelona" so it still confirms new parts but far less cryptic/strange

He did okay in wet race of suzuka last year and had brake failure in monaco, trying to push your preference is not how f1 work.yuki is one of the only 3 drivers who have been consistent these season the others are all over the placemendis wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 18:50Having blooded young guns prematurely, like Kvyat, Gasly and Albon and burning their hands, RB took a wiser approach to go for someone more experienced to manage the second seat. Yuki is just a hot head and completely under cooked driver to be where he is. His inability to race in difficult circumstances, more specifically in wet and being too afraid of crashing, leaves a lot to be desired of for a Red Bull driver. It would make sense to either put Daniel back or bring Albon back if they plan to replace Perez.Bill wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 16:25perez come with big sponsor in the form of telcel.he guaranteed to come second with car they have so i think he will calm down ones he realise that the championship is gone.organic wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 15:26
What has he said?
And his replacement could easily be tsunoda. Yuki seems nearly ready to step up imo. He almost never crashes now, beat Gasly in 2nd half of '22 and is crushing de vries.
Marko has recently inferred on the topic of Yuki/Nyck that they brought Nyck in to measure Yuki's performance.. so to me they are already thinking about moving him up to RB

Team radio championship between max and yuki would be tight
The worst thing for a young driver like Yuki would be to put him in the second seat at Red Bull. That's a potentially career-ending "promotion", sadly. That seat should be occupied by an old hand that is just making bank for his retirement as there is little prospect of success other than picking up Max's left overs.
I'd love to see Albon get a second chance.AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 21:42Do you think Albon and Gasly would perform better than Perez after 2022 with the new cars?
Because Albon said that the car was quite on the edge and pointy during 2019-2020! Yet cars after 2022 aren’t that oversteery or on the edge as their predecessors used to be, so maybe both Albon and Gasly would have been able to perform at their best!
Same. He really got an unfair hand out of it all.Gillian wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 23:30I'd love to see Albon get a second chance.AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 21:42Do you think Albon and Gasly would perform better than Perez after 2022 with the new cars?

I think his race had gone so poorly that they just used him to check for a possible crossover onto the wets when the rain was particularly bad to protect Max. Also gathering a bit of data, but can't draw a lot from monaco..
That explains why he went on the full wet tires then…
It's a new compound that they tested in the winter with Alpha Tauri and Ferrari in very cold conditions, and it performed better in wetter/colder conditions than the previous tyre even without tyre blankets. And the push to not have tyre blankets is driven by the desire to be a more "green" sport which is appealing to sponsors/consumers etc
I would love to see Red Bull bring another young talent that is doing so well over the years and more specifically this year, Alonso.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 22:07The worst thing for a young driver like Yuki would be to put him in the second seat at Red Bull.
