What has he said?

And his replacement could easily be tsunoda. Yuki seems nearly ready to step up imo. He almost never crashes now, beat Gasly in 2nd half of '22 and is crushing de vries.

Marko has recently inferred on the topic of Yuki/Nyck that they brought Nyck in to measure Yuki's performance.. so to me they are already thinking about moving him up to RB

I think Max will be frightening here in Barcelona. He topped Q2 here last year, and was on provisional pole in Q3 by some margin after the bankers. He was denied a final run due to a PU issue, and his banker was still 3 tenths quicker than Perez's 2nd run and was eventually good enough for 2nd on the grid.

Also as I said elsewhere, that final corner will be all RB on low and high fuel.

It was a drs failure in q3 last year that cost him a shot at pole. Max thought it was a loss of power because the lack of drs caused him to have lower revs and derating at the end of the straight

See further down. Marko confirms Barcelona upgrades by saying "we won't try anything new until Barcelona"

Marko could be trolling, but:

https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/209206/r ... spain.html
Helmut Marko confirms this in conversation with OE24. What new parts the Milton Keynes-based racing stable will bring to Montmeló the 80-year-old consultant does not say: "We are going to try something new in Barcelona," Marko told the Austrian television station.
So there is confirmation of at least some upgrade(s) in Barcelona
I read a rumor that it's a new floor.

Having blooded young guns prematurely, like Kvyat, Gasly and Albon and burning their hands, RB took a wiser approach to go for someone more experienced to manage the second seat. Yuki is just a hot head and completely under cooked driver to be where he is. His inability to race in difficult circumstances, more specifically in wet and being too afraid of crashing, leaves a lot to be desired of for a Red Bull driver. It would make sense to either put Daniel back or bring Albon back if they plan to replace Perez.

Interesting. Sounds like something they arent 100% sure with hence the 'try' rather than 'we bringing upgrades'.

It is a poor translation. I have found the source material and the proper translation is:

"We won't try something new until Barcelona" when he is discussing merc's new parts for Monaco.

https://www.oe24.at/sport/motorsport/he ... /557082185
oe24: What do you expect from Mercedes now?

Marko: They have brought a huge update, but with regard to Imola. The cancellation there hurts them because they would have needed the three practice sessions there to optimize the innovations. All this will do them no good in Monaco. We won't try anything new until Barcelona.

Interesting. That would be a big upgrade considering the changes already made for Baku (floor/sidepods)

RB originally claimed that they had a 2 tenths upgrade and a 3 tenths upgrade coming (I think this was Wazari several pages ago).

Maybe Spain is too early for a floor upgrade...his comment about "something new" is curious nonetheless. New mirrors?

According to Horner, he has been working with RBPT more recently.

Yes he was working on PU integration for the 2026 rules last time I heard about him
