I see your point, but still disagree on it. I'm of the opinion that it is the drivers job to feel the car and tires, and drive within and as close to the maximum of the limits of grip available to him at any moment. The team left him out too long, but it is up to the driver to then drive to the grip available. Instead he overcooked it and ran wide. He has a brain of his own and knew the tires would have been worn.
The idea that this year is going to be an "easy" victory for Nico because Lewis never does well is misguided as best - it's clear that Lewis could have won last year. That means it's not easily Nico's track.
On this I fully agree. I don't see any reason why Lewis would have less of an chance to win this year.

You mean the team made the mess of his race, by telling him to push and then keeping him out an extra lap.
He oversteered on entry 2 (maybe more?) times because the team told him to? Of course..
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

He was doing ok in 2012 until Hulkenburg ruined both of their races...

But yes, he's never been great here in the race. Odd.

I expect Rosberg to take pole and the win. I expect Hamilton to be unhappy with a Mercedes pit strategy call again.
You are right. He would've won that race. But remember earlier in the race the safety car rescued him from a terrible tire decision that put him two full pit stops behind the leader :)

When Hamilton crossed the finish line, the gap between him and Rosberg was still outside of the pit window. It was 22.499 seconds. All of Mercedes' pit stops on that day were between 22.9 to 23.8 seconds. In other words, Lewis needed an extra lap to get the gap he needed to jump Rosberg. Then he blew it.

Is the "Hamilton is the best vs. Hamilton ist the worst" debate already starting before the race now? Can we please wait with that until at least FP1 or continue this pointless discussion where it belongs - in the 2014 Brazilian GP threat?

No. The team blew it. Read Moose's post please.

If the team did pit Lewis one lap earlier as they said they would Lewis would have came out clearly in front of Nico.

It's usually a good race here, I hope we get a mixed race with wet and dry!

Preferably dry then wet, I feel that messes up the order more than wet then dry.

No he would not have, what part of "22.499 seconds was not quite enough to for a pit stop" did you not grasp?

Moose wrote:He was also doing great last year. He would have won if not for the miscommunication with the team.

I don't think his lack of a win here is anything to do with him not liking the place, and more to do with dumb luck.
- Great indeed: out-qualified, made a mistake and went off track, not a single attempt to overtake, finished second and was never close to winning anything. So which of the above is the miscommunication aka the only element that prevented him winning the race?
- How is being slower or making mistakes 'dumb luck'? You know what I would consider a dumb luck? Servicing substance contamination, wrong tyres prepared, two engine failures or... Never mind, no need for that again :),

Now, who really cares? 50/50 between Merc drivers and the same old: Merc - Ferrari - Williams with big gaps and no competition assuming no mistakes plus a lot of bad driving. Red Bull taking engine penalties - higher chance of start collision.

There have been some discussion that the old classic tracks with fast spectacular speeping corners soon are becoming history. And I have to say that the new tracks are too slow and basically just booring Herman Tilke tracks all together.
A revamp of the old full length Interlagos with a smooth surface would be the opposite of this.
