It was over before they even reached the apex. Charles had time and space to cut back and get the run on him to the next but didn't yield so ran out of track.ENGINE TUNER wrote: ↑28 Jun 2020, 17:52Ferrari pitted LEC too soon(a lap or 2 in order to cover off BOT undercutting him) not recognizing VER as a threat for the win. The Mercs couldn't put up much fight to VER because of their overheating problems. And then VER crashed into him and pushed him off track.SirBastianVettel wrote: ↑28 Jun 2020, 11:01I really have no idea what the pecking order will be this year (which is great!). Did Ferrari lose the GP last year just because of strategy or was the race pace of the Red Bull really that much better? Will Mercedes be competitive if it's not too hot? Will Red Bull be closer in qualifying because of all the extra engine regulations regarding oil burning and fuel sensor trickery. So many questions..
That looks really really great
If the Pink Mercedes is quick i'm sure it will be protested. I still think teams will follow through with earlier threats this COVID business only delayed protests on DAS and Pink Merc.
Renault won't even be 4th fastest car, not to mention be scrapping with Ferrari.
Depends on whether A: RedBull / Ferrari have developed their own, and B: whether the result is close. If Mercedes are only a few seconds ahead then it will protested as being a thing that gave them an advantage. If they're 45 seconds up the road, probably not as DAS isn't going to be worth anything like that.
Would love to know where you get you insider information from. LOL, not even one lap turned in anger anywhere and they already have cooling issues.
I wonder if it will make merso front wheels vulnerable to wheel to wheel race. I am sure they already haf thought everything and made tests but we must see it in that conditionJust_a_fan wrote: ↑29 Jun 2020, 19:01Depends on whether A: RedBull / Ferrari have developed their own, and B: whether the result is close. If RedBull and/or Ferrari are ahead of Mercedes, I doubt there would be a protest. Which would then, of course, set up Mercedes to run it for the rest of the season. FIA: "What? You're only protesting it because they won this time. Go away".
Think he was going off of last year's car/PU, which had a fundamental cooling problem that could not be fixed because they miscalculated the cooling requirements in the design phase. It was addressed *slightly* during a Germany update (added a new ERS cooler, slightly more open bodywork in a few places, including a less restrictive engine cover).
