New tarmac, one practice, basically new cars, sprint race, 9 drivers new to their cars...may be another chaos weekend.
Anything for the spectacle !

Wonder if we will even have a race, I'm hearing there are logistics issues for several of the top teams...

Interesting. I wasnt aware new tarmac was being laid. Now it will depend how much it has settled since. Remember turkey went from skating ice ring to grippiest tarmac in a span of a year.

"There's proper grip and actually I think it's [now] one of the most grippy tracks we have on the calendar," explained Bottas.
This will tilt the odds even more in favour of Mclaren, the team with the 'widest working window' as the challenge will be to get the car into an optimal front v rear balance that suits both Q and R, all within 1 hour. Of course, there is the freedom between sprint and Q , but nevertheless, this 'new tarmac' places even more pressure on the "car setup".

Not sure. I think McLaren's tyre deg advantage might be more pronounced on a low grip track where there is a lot of sliding.

Tarmac looks good. Let’s hope it’s consistent even tho it’s new.

The most interesting one is the HAAS. The mainplane trailing edge seems to 'follow' the curved profile of the leading edge, probably because they don't want the chord length to vary too much.

Is it me, or does the Ferrari RW endplate have a straight shape towards the attachment point to the chassis/diffuser?
