Should be a dominant race for McLaren. Expect Max to get P3 because Red Bull was quite the car on this track last year.
Call a spade, a spade.

Hardly a surprising choice. Could be those three all year, but hopefully not. Given it’s a sprint weekend, that could bring uncertainty and a surprise.

After a disappointing first race, this weekend will either cement last weeks observations and the expected outcome of McL domination, or provide us with some optimism for an exciting season.

I suspect there to be some teams that raise the issue of what can be changed in parc ferme.

I think Ferrari will be closer to an optimal setup and have a good weekend.
Redbull dont so so well with sprint weekends. They normally need time to build to their optimum perfromance.
McLaren to dominante again with Piastri on pole. Lando for the win again!
For Sure!!

T1-2-3 looong corner with decreasing radius
T11-12-13 looong corner with increasing radius
one sits at the end of a straight, one sits before a straight.

T6 and T14 slow speed rotation after hard braking.

The laptime sits in these places, the McLaren should have an advantage of 0.5+s/lap in Q and 1+s/lap in R.
Who will be 3rd is going to be the interesting amongst Ferrari/Redbull/Mercedes. I have a feeling that ANT will outperform RUS here.

What happens if the freight doesn’t get there in time?

F1 crews are known to work overtime. worst case maybe Sprint race will be cancelled to allow for delayed FP

The freight should have arrived on Monday evening local time. It now is expected Wednesday evening.
This is more than work overtime. They have to work nonstop to get the cars ready for Thursday.

Interesting. I wasnt aware new tarmac was being laid. Now it will depend how much it has settled since. Remember turkey went from skating ice ring to grippiest tarmac in a span of a year.

"There's proper grip and actually I think it's [now] one of the most grippy tracks we have on the calendar," explained Bottas.

Having a Sprint race in the 2nd race weekend of the calendar, coming only after a week after the first race, truly was a ridiculous choice.

New tarmac, one practice, basically new cars, sprint race, 9 drivers new to their cars...may be another chaos weekend.
