It would always confuse and slow down mt fellow speeders unnecessarily and unethically interfere with their "rights" as speeders. But I was wondering if one could rig a "instant response" broadcast to whatever frequency is detected by my V1. These could be broadcast from those silly little "parking impact detectors" that use very low amp radar. That way it would be hidden and I would never miss the dopey parking feature anyway. Several questions arise... would the V1 detect the signal that it just prompted thus sending it into an endless "feedback" loop? Is it possible to send out a false signal such as would cause the police radar to register that I am going say, 50%, of my actual speed? Or would it be best to just jam it so that it "does not compute"? I know that all such "broadcasting on frequencies" is highly illegal but is it achievable nonetheless? And lastly, how much would such a system cost?

hmmm... false signal I think you're talking about mil spec system, not going to be cheap. If they don't have radar cheating systems on F-14s, don't think it'll be a cheap add-on for your V1.

Now feedback could be a problem so it might make sense to add a timer to it.

You might not be about to reuse the parking radar as I don't think they are in the same range as the cop's.

I think it would be cool if someone come out with a detector that does wireless networking and warn other driver with the same model detector near by. Of cause you need to have enough people with the same detector for this to work, but it would be nice to know there's a trap on the other side of the hill before you're in radar range.

Finally a serious reply! Thank you. I was beginning to think less of my F1 brethren.

The parking radar sensors are just antennas. I would think they could be coopted to broadcast on whatever frequency you would select. In this case it would be on the same frequency that the detector sensed.

And the wireless networking idea is a gem! I am going to spread the idea to certain manufacturers.

Now where do I get those military spec F-14 countermeasures.... hmmmm.

Why don´t you just take your number-plate off? Then just Speed up and if a cop appears in your mirror, just accelerate more! Haven´t you seen that Kowalski movie with the white Challenger?

What a low tech approach. I would expect to find this answer on some NASCAR site.

Us F1 types are developing invisible paint like that used in this movie.

Golden answer! If you have a heavy wallet, you may lighten it with something like an AN/ALQ-184 although AN/ALQ-131's might be a bargain. Of course, these weigh a couple hundred kilos, so probably an engine update will be needed. Please note it will interfere your phone calls too!

Seriously speaking, though, I don't have much experience if at all with jamming. Some folks in spain use a special reflecting coat so that the flash blinds the number plate. Also, fixed radars are considered public knowledge and, as such, are marked as hotspots in most GPS systems. Furthermore, the two TomToms i've seen also mark the sites of usual mobile radars, courtesy of the internet. On the negative side, I know some folks have been arrested for using radar detectors (not even jammers).

As a sidenote, I'll say that I got caught doing 117 km/h in a motorway place that was limited to 120 km/h the week before, but decreased to 100 km/h that very week. Oh, great. Do I speed? Sometimes, but not often on motorways. It's too booooring and easy to go fast in a motorway. Except in the A-8 (see my signature).
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

Miguel, another way to flash blind the number plate, cheaper than yours is to put a CD near it
