the question that i am about to ask might not be related to the above posts but here it goes...

i came across an article that the firing order of a formula 1 car V8 differs from a conventional V8's firing order....

1. is that true???
2. how does it differ from it???
3. what are the advantages of doing so???

They use flat plane crankshafts as opposed to cross plane crankshafts used in most passenger cars (with some exceptions like Ferrari road cars).
