While the initial Russian Grand Prix result left Mercedes 6 points short of securing their second consecutive Constructors' Championship, a penalty for Kimi Räikkönen has now sealed Mercedes' title.
Wasn't the way I wanted to see them battle it out.

I don´t think that would work. About the barriers, I agree lifting and hitting drivers helmet is a risk, but as some of you already posted that can´t be prevented because they can´t be secured to the ground or they wouldn´t decrease deceleration so well.
I´m a big defensor of closed cockpits, but in this case I don´t think this is a big problem. It is not a solid object hitting drivers helmet, it´s a techpro barrier (soft) so that´s not a huge problem, helmets should cope with that perfectly
To me it looked like extreme compression due to the forces in that corner. The championship has been decided by both driver and mechanical issues. Rosberg would still be down on Hamilton on points at this stage without his issues. No. Nico's start wasn't that bad. Hamilton got alongside but Nico retained. After the safety car about lap 5 he suddenly plummeted down the field after reporting a throttle issue a lap or two earlier.
