Whatever they are doing to calculate ultimate qualifying pace puts Hamilton predicted as first.
They’re likely piecing together ultimate laps via mini sectors, knowing the drivers / teams aren’t showing their full hands over the course of a lap

Agree. It did seem to me like they were holding back a bit on the soft runs. All only a prediction of course! Qualifying should be fascinating tomorrow.

A little eye rolling on my end here as Sky is already hyping up the “title battle” despite not even completing the very first FP2 for a season that extends into December....

I’m not even picking sides, but they haven't even raced Rd1 of 23.

I'm generally tired of hearing about all the bs (as far as i'm concerned), handicaps etc.

Russell is a second ahead of his team mate and the Haas cars.

Not bad going.

They’re borderline carnival barkers.

Medium runs done, Merc nearly 6 tenths up on Max . Hmm....
Oh dear, are you sure? Bottas said the car was "undrivable" -- yet 6 tenths up on RBR!? That doesn't sound right.

It would be very spicy indeed if McLaren and Ferrari are evenly matched to the Mercedes. =D> :D

The puzzler though: Alpine so slow, and with poor balance too. Alonso will not be a happy chappy.

Bottas saying that the car is undriveable should be evidence enough that they have some kind of a balance issue. If they were sandbagging in whole testing (which I doubt they were), they surely aren't right now.

Mercedes might actually have got another diva just like in 2017. Nail the set up and you're the fastest, mess it up and you're no where near fastest.

Argh, mixed emotions. Amazing to see the interesting field order and differences in what they show over the FP phases. On the other hand I have to hear David idiot Croft vomit stupidity out his mouth again.

Thats exactly what it was though. The medium runs at the start of the session, Merc were 6 tenths up. Then when it went to soft runs Merc barely improved for some reason. Bottas was indeed struggling at the end, his race pace was way off Lewis and Max.
