As said, whisper is that Buemi has been taken to Ferrari and Vergne has the chance to replace him.

all that actually shows is that ferrari are the biggest name in the sport ....just have a look at the figures for massa and ask why ! above a 4 times world champion !
but in case you haven't noticed neither mass or alonso are any longer at ferrari

the company who did this survey specialise in sports marketing...
And the company who did the other one, that wich puts Hamilton as the most marketable sportman, is not even a marketing company, but a sport magazine

Maybe he can make the small cavallino jumping again.

It seems the journey in F1 as an active driver is over for JEV and Vettel's departure has given a lease of life for Sainz's F1 career.
Good to see new talent arriving, JEV had his time and proved he wasn't a complete package (raced well but too slow in qually).

It seems that the decision on 2015 drivers is to be taken by the board of McLaren.

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/n ... meeting-f1

A little googling didn't really reveal the members to me. Does any one know the excact list of members?

From The Guardian:
The 34-year-old’s future in F1 now rests on a board meeting in early December when Dennis will sit down with rest of the group’s shareholders.

“That’s where it will be discussed,” said Dennis. “I’ve not made up my mind yet, but it’s not mine [a decision] alone, and anyway, it wouldn’t be appropriate.

“Any decision has to be supported by the shareholders and the board.

“It’s pretty understandable we’re looking at two people, and there’s a broader choice than Kevin and Jenson, but nevertheless whatever the decision, it won’t be taken until then.”

Something else that is interesting I. This video is KM's face in the back. A big fake smile plastered all over it while it looks like he is thinking "oh s**t I am out of luck now"
You mean Nico Rosberg? I don't see Kevin anywhere in the vid
Wow...sorry guys...brain....not....working....oh the shame of not watching it properly

How do you know that?
To correct that info: http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2014/03/a ... uk-stakes/
From this link:
Repucom, a world leader in sports market research which is used by many of the teams and sponsors in F1, has compiled a list of the most marketable drivers in Formula One, using a set of measurements to show that Alonso holds the highest global appeal,
And the other one:
From this link:
Lewis Hamilton has been named the world's most marketable athlete by SportsPro magazine
[...]
The list by SportsPro does not measure how well athletes are currently marketed but rather offers a projection of how they will do so in the next three years, which may explain the absence of Fernando Alonso
So first is from a serious marketing reseach company, while the second is the guess of a magazine

I think McLaren was hoping on a very disappointed Hamilton on Sunday, in an interview Dennis was talking about a fourth driver (besides ALO, BUT and MAG). I truly believe Dennis wants HAM back as soon as possible. So maybe ALO for a two year deal, securing some Spanish sponsors and having a good base to work from and BUT with a one year deal so at the end of every season Dennis keeps a seat open for HAM.

Else I can't see why McLarens haven't made up their minds jet.

Hi, Jolle, nice to meet you. You may be right in view of the current situation and roster at Macca.

I might be that McLaren wants Hamilton back but I cannot think of a reason, for the life of me, for Hamilton to want to go back.

I just want to remark that Matiacci was finally fired from Ferrari for his handling of Alonso deal. This shows that silly season can make you seem silly.

That's strong words from Ferrari Board.

Is this the shortest tenure of a Ferrari team principal? Or is this the shortest tenure of ANY team principal?

Perhaps it's time to call the Pope? Just saying... it worked for Schumi!
Image

I'd say it also worked for pious Todt (that face in previous picture is priceless, is you ask me). He's what we could call "FIA's pope" for who knows how many years, even if the sport of Formula One is going directly to hell, according to the respectable forum member's consensus.

I suspect Christijan Albers holds that title.

Thanks, Writinglife, you're absolutely correct, I had no idea. I'd say your post is "valuable and informative", so thumbs-up. :)

Wow, that's a new record. Three months of glorious summer. At least the team was broken.

Kobayashi's famous pictures of his Caterham suspension, saying he was worried for his safety, a week after Bianchi's accident. No comments from the power that be: truly a silly season

Bit of a myth that Vergne was a slow qualifier, outside of F1 he was a fantastic qualifier. Unfortunately for him, he came into F1 when being 3 inches and 10kg heavier than those he was qualifying against put him at a severe disadvantage.

It's no coincidence that Sky F1s 4 F1 drivers - Hill, Herbert, Brundle & Davidson - are all huge fans of his.
