Will Grosjean get Verstappen-Monaco-like headlines after FP  ? No. Of course it's only softs, it will change with super-softs, engine settings (Ferrari), Williams run heavy and so on.

They're obviously running a different program. As ever, have some patience before jumping to conclusions. At the absolute bare minimum, we should wait until end of fp3 but even then it's never entirely clear.
Vettel's 1:17.9 time was 7th lap on the first set of tires, Hamilton did a 1:16.6 on that same first set of tires on the 11th lap which was very close in terms of point in the session they completely those laps. He also did 2 other laps before that time on the same tire that were faster than Vettel. Older tires that did multiple faster laps.

It's not entirely indicative at all but Hamilton was miles faster on older tires which had already done several faster laps than Vettel achieved.

That Hamilton went even faster later on doesn't change an awful lot.

I didn't say they were using an old pu, I think it's more likely they're slowly bedding in the new one.

If you don't think it's jumping the gun to draw hard and fast conclusions after fp1 is too early - and that suggesting waiting till after fp3 is the same as waiting till the end of the season - then fair enough, that's your choice. But surely you must see that at the same stage Mercedes were doing the low 17s , vettel did his fastest lap, after which Mercedes got faster, Ferrari got slower; that suggests different programs (and yes I watched the session).

My usual video feed sources are not working from here at work. Someone PM me some directions on how I can watch FP2 please. (wink wink).

How foolish to even go out in rain since none is predicted for the race. Silly move Mercedes AMG! Sorry Lewis!
Jesus, the crane just swung the back of his Merc smack into itself. Poor gearbox. #-o

Complete incompetence by Merc again. I could see at home it was too wet for inters, so they could too.

Ferrari half a second quicker than Merc on the long run in FP2. Could have a race.

Vettel said in an interview after FP2 that they were running the new PU "flat out right away." Interesting.

I don't think that the car touched the crane.

Sure, Mercs aren't the brightest team out there, but the crash was Lewis's fault too, which he admitted on his Instagram. Rosberg was in the same position as him and he didn't crash out. Lewis has had numerous little incidents today, so his crash wasn't that surprising to me.

Of course, no one's disputing that. But why Merc thought inters were the right choice when everyone else could see it was full wets, we'll never understand.

15,8 in FP2. Pole last year was 14.8, seems like it will be smashed quite easily this year assuming itΒ΄s dry.

Lewis pushed all day today. Pretty much every lap he was on the razors edge of locking up going into the hair pin. He was breaking later than anyone else, and you could hear the tires protesting a lot.
Str, looked very twitchy under breaking, the back end was dancing

Hope the car can be fixed without issues...
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. β€” bhall II

based on the replay I saw, it will probably be just a new front nose.
