More operational issues for McLaren - Hamilton failing to get his final time in thanks to not making it over the line in time, and Button not being brought in for tyres early enough to make a difference. They've been an absolute shambles this year.

Button had many opportunities, did the most laps in Q1.

He is out because he was slow....

Yeah, cause F1 is as simple as that... :P Tyre wear and weather conditions played no part what so ever.

What happens if we finish Q2 but the rain becomes too severe for Q3 and they call off qualifying.

Ooh, red flag. My prediction was right then. Sadly.

Yes...
As simple as blaming McLaren pit crew for everything, even for driver incompetence.....

Dunno - but the clock stops now it's been red flagged so they'll get a chance to do some more laps if/when it's restarted.

Presumably there's a maximum run time for qualifying and if it's reached they'll just use the Q2 times for the race.

They do have the option to run qualifying again tomorrow morning, so that could be an option for them.

Interesting how long it took them to pull the red flags out...

Hmmm the Wet tyres didn't seem all that reliable/grippy to me, anyone else agree/disagree?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

If the rain doesn't stop now atleast till there is enough light then Perez will be at pole .

So nothing to do with his tyres being shot from heat degradation by the time that the track was at its best then? And I guess the heavier rain in sectors 1 and 3 at the end of the session played no part at all. Had they pitted five laps earlier for new inters then he would have made it through.

On new tyres Hamilton was amongst the fastest but ended up 14th thanks to tyre degradation and conditions. I suppose that this is just down to him being slow and incompetent as well?
