Button said in jerez new tyres are about 5/10s slower. And SS are easily 2.5s faster than medium, at least from what we've seen last year.turbof1 wrote: Yes but how do these tyres compare to last year's? The whole line is harder now, giving less performance. Say they are 1s slower, and the difference between the medium and super soft is 1s, it nulifies the advantage and disadvantage.
according to autosprint he was on softf1316 wrote:Any news on the tyres for Alonso's last run? He was fastest of all in the middle sector, so you'd imagine either soft or super soft.
I really hope that Alonso's tyres for that time were not mediums, because if the time was on medium they are really competitive.f1316 wrote:Any news on the tyres for Alonso's last run? He was fastest of all in the middle sector, so you'd imagine either soft or super soft.
It just so happened they mentioned it on autosport - wish I had that timing data myself!motobaleno wrote:according to autosprint he was on softf1316 wrote:Any news on the tyres for Alonso's last run? He was fastest of all in the middle sector, so you'd imagine either soft or super soft.
may I ask you where I can find the partial timing (for the different sectors I mean...)

I think that it's not so easy to know precisely...they say 800 but with what precision?mclaren_mircea wrote:What is the difference between soft and super softs? If I don't understood wrong the difference between soft and medium is -800. I suppose that between super softs and softs we have to had another -800.

it seems confirmed soft, not medium for alonso.mclaren_mircea wrote:f1316 wrote:

On italian blogs are saying that it was soft not medium, but surely not super softs. I read yesterday that the difference between soft is faster than medium by -800. And super softs than soft by half a second. So supposing that time was on medium, even if he would have had super softs he would have been +106 of Kevin's time.
