Raikkonen just one of the 3 to break sub 1.16... Will be interesting too see how he pans up tomorrow if the weather turns out to be dry...
Well, bear in mind Raikkonen was on softs there, I'd say the McLaren's dry pace is probably faster than the Lotus'
Huge differences, Lotus 5 seconds from pole in the rain, setup too low fo rain?
Almost certainly set up too twitchy for the rain, yes. If it's dry, Alonso'll cake walk it. If it's wet, I can still see Button and Hamilton on the podium.

Well, looks like Button on new tires had the edge on hamilton...
And that was on the first flying lap. Had they pitted Button one lap earlier and Hamilton at the same time they would have had two flying laps to really get the heat into the tyres. For whatever reason it seems like the McLaren's struggle to get heat into those full wets and then retain that heat.

No it was mediums, maybe a new set but definitely the harder compound.

Yep, certain, he did a 1:16.987 on the harder tyres, and then a 1:15.693 on the softs.

Vettel looking angry ?
What for ? could he snatch the pole if he had not been behind Webber ?
Because by looking at the sectors he set ( 1 &2 ) he was capable of going faster than Fernando : o

I expect Lotus ( Especially Kimi to be a Threat tomorrow ! ( if hot conditions ) )

Autosport said:
"14 min: Raikkonen tops the first sector on medium compound rubber, jumping all the way to the top of the times in 1m15.693s."

Watching TV, I saw white markings, and the commentators initially thought he was on softs but then changed their minds to mediums.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, because I agree it was an amazing leap in pace. That is why I made sure to look at the tyre sidewall markings - and apparently if I made a mistake so did several others.

MSC P2? I wish. Their pace looked bad earlier on on the longer runs?

Two wet qualifying and we have the same top four......just shows you who has the raw talent!

I'd love to see what MSC could do in a Red Bull or Ferrari though. I'm convinced he is still one of the best out there and hasn't lost as much speed as some people think (he's been re-gaining that speed since he came back in 2010).

Lewis was worried about their pace on full wets and sadly he was right. Macca's pace looked very reasonable in the dry, and on inters Lewis was fastest comfortably. It's bizzare really that they can't make the full wets work.

Well, oddly enough, wasn't it the other way around at Silverstone - they were fine on the full wets (HAM was fastest), but when they were on inters they struggled?
