sorry to go off topic a little, not sure if its been mentioned before, but has anyone noticed that the name of the car resembles FIAT quite well?
F14T
FIAT
maybe FIAT gave 32% of the votes...

some common sense... =D>Cuky wrote:Yeah, they did. But nobody (except Ferrari ofc) made CFD analysis of a whole car, together with tires, suspension, interior aerodynamics and with absolutely correct measures.
And I am 100% sure that guys at Maranello haven't just put that nose on and said: "that's fine, we'll go with it". I think there were months and months spent on fine-tuning nose shape, wing shape, pillars,...
Just because someone's CFD analysis of nosecone only without any other part of the car taken into consideration gave bad results doesn't make that design wrong.

Gratuitous smilies edited out, just because. Your rant applies to 99% of what has ever been written on this forum. (Of the 1% that's real, factual stuff, well, most of that is pretty dry and not worth reading.) The fun part is trying to figure out just what posts within that 99% b.s. might actually be on to something. A surprising number of them each year are.Goran2812 wrote:You guys crack me up... You have absolutelly no idea why ferrari chose this type of nose, you have no aero data at all, and yet you manage to send the car to the grave because YOU think it's no good without even seeing it go... It's just insane to even read this! Please stop it with the "I don't like it, it's gonna suck because it's ugly and doesn't have a dick on the nose!" It does look different but who knows, it just might work! I hope they prove all you chair aero chiefs wrong...

What is lacking?wesley123 wrote: How so? I'm really failing to see what is missing or what is lacking.
Never trust a CFD of a front wing that produces no Y250 vortex. Or that has a color palette scaled (in velocity) from zero to whatever. Or that has wind at 36Km/h. Just sayin'.
