The Formula 1 fanbase clearly isn't representative of the wider UK opinion though. James Allen ran a poll which has collected more than 4000 responses so far. Respondents are 2 to 1 against the banning of grid girls. I would suggest these respondents are a better proxy for the wider Formula 1 audience than the YouGov poll.bonjon1979 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2018, 17:21Incorrect. The methodology means that the poll is weighted to account for that and be representative of the UK population as a whole.NathanOlder wrote: ↑02 Feb 2018, 17:17That can easily be misleading though.
If in that very poll 1000 men voted and only 100 women voted (id say a 10/1 ratio is possible as its followed by men a lot more)
That would mean at the time im looking at the results,
492 people against the change,
370 for the change,
238 dont know.
So you can't use that as a fact. I'm not saying my theory is right, I'm just explaining how easy it is to manipulate figures to make it look how you want.
though i kinda agree,
Thank you Steven.Steven wrote: ↑03 Feb 2018, 22:01While I don't understand how people can make such a fuss out of this (incl Liberty), here are a few key items I think that matter.
- The women on the grid were they because they got paid, and wanted to do the job
- Those backing the removal by bringing in kids to the argument, may ask themselves how we all ended up well enough, despite the grid girls being present.
To me, this change is unneeded. But then again, is it really needed? I guess not.
If anyone wants to add something sensible, feel free, but I'm not sure if there's anything more to discuss in this thread...

So is a discussion about mclaren fans on hamilton, yet that somehow is allowed to stay in general despite it not belonging there either.AJI wrote: ↑03 Feb 2018, 22:15Thank you Steven.Steven wrote: ↑03 Feb 2018, 22:01While I don't understand how people can make such a fuss out of this (incl Liberty), here are a few key items I think that matter.

This topic is off-topic for a site that primarily exists for the discussion of the technical aspects of F1.
