Vettel pulls into the pits with some burning issues. BBC F1 pit-lane reporter Ted Kravitz says: "The engine cover came off and there was some charring. The engine cover is back on now and it has a bigger cooling hole in than the last one, so you can guess that there was something overheating."
That's fair to say. Here in Canada the channel airing qualifying cuts off the feed once the final laps are set, so I did not get to see post-quali press conference. Was just pure speculation on my part.Ray wrote: I don't think Vettel was telling the truth due to the Chesire Cat grin he had on his face, but it couldn't have been because of KERS. If KERS was the problem Button could have been zapped really badly. Something else was up and they aren't going to say obviously, I've not heard that 'rule' from any other driver and I've not seen any other driver just hang out in the car for that long.
I have it on reliable information that it is a voodoo doll of Webber!fenix4life wrote:Nothing to see here at my car, move alongCHT wrote:Any idea why Vettel took such a long time to get out of the car? Is he trying to hide something?

That's what I thought at first as well, but then after rethinking the things I came to conclusion that stopping ones car at the track in the final minutes of qualifying session while your teammate didn't post his time yet, isn't the smartest thing to do. I feel Petrov just got angry, because he missed great opportunity to fight for third or maybe even second row and forgot about all his surroundings. When he felt, something's wrong with his car, he could easily have parked it out of the track.wrigs wrote:Wow, Barrichello is a --- idiot.
Massa really had a go at Perez and gave him some stick cool move...broadcasted on RTL by helicopter camera..Perez bravely stood up for two corners but then had toTazio wrote:I don't know why Fred thought he had to go out in that last group!
All he accomplished was torturing his engine waiting in line!
Did anyone get a good look of Massa overtaking Perez?
The commentators said that they thought they touched wheels.
He was the only one of that group that improved his time
Any chance that may be investigated?
Yeah, but judging from the onboard images from Petrov's car, he thought he had a gearbox-problem and started fiddling with the clutch settings to see if he could nurse it back to the pits. I doubt anyone was expecting the car to simply die out on him like it did, and not even at low revs.mith wrote:That's what I thought at first as well, but then after rethinking the things I came to conclusion that stopping ones car at the track in the final minutes of qualifying session while your teammate didn't post his time yet, isn't the smartest thing to do.
