It literally flies on every track regardless if it takes pole or not.
It flies on light fuel and good tyres...

Otherwise it's a frustrating car to watch.
+1 to your statement and avatar
If consistently being 7/10ths faster than you is a "mind game", then yes Jenson, Lewis was playing "games" with you.

I think its nice that Lewis Hamilton has come to grips with the Mercedes at his home track. I can imagine that Lowe joining Merc has something to do with it. Paddy should probably understand much better than Ross Brawn what Lewis needs from a car to be confident in it. The Mercs were build for a long time for Michael Schumacher's preferences. He used to love a loose back end and could deal with a lot more aerodynamic instability than Lewis can. Nico has probably a very similar style as Michael had. He also likes complicated steering wheels with many options. Lewis likes it simple and until Silverstone he could never match Nico in confidence. It will be interesting to see how the team mates will handle it from now on.

After qualifying the odds have changed big time:
Sebastian Vettel 2.25
Lewis Hamilton 4.25
Nico Rosberg 8
Mark Webber 9
Fernando Alonso 11

I do agree that Vettel will probably win this race, but his hardest competitor could be Webber who goes very well on this track. He just tends to screw up the starts. Alonso from P10 will find it very difficult to just make the podium unless the weather goes wet again.

Well it´s a great problem to have ;)
Better then barely hitting Top 10´s then having the same race-issues ;)

It does not look very particular but for some reason it´s many times comfortably faster then a Red Bull.
The improvements made from last year is simply staggering.

Um no, not even Pirelli themselves understand their tires. No team has designed their car consciously for these Pirelli´s.
You can´t design a car for a tire you tried in one session last year. It´s preposterous to think that.

Ferrari and Lotus (the people who supposedly built their cars for the Pirelli´s) are now a second off and they have no idea why.
except that the compound is too hard for Quali but effin brilliant for the race because the shitty car puts zero energy into the tires.

You're right, it's not got a front row lock out.

It's not the race pace he is talking about. What he meant to say is that in the previous years, Merc' ocassionaly struggled to get to Q3, and even then their race pace was bad. Now they have fastest car in qualifying and the even have scored a win and some podiums. This is their best season to date so far. So it is really a huge imrovement.

Yeah, there are pros and cons of both approaches. RB and Merc heat the tyres quickly and benefit from better grip in quali; Ferrari and Lotus are gentler and benefit from that in the race. Nothing overly complex about that.

Do you think Ferrari's and McLaren's front pull-rod suspension is a big factor why they suffer getting sufficient grip?

RedBull's suspension and stability is from another world compared to McFari

Yes, right after his "usual" tow by Massa trick.

Had a great day at Silverstone yesterday. Was quite surprised how obvious the differences in driving style were between the two Ferrari and the two McLaren drivers in particular. Massa always kept well clear off the edge of the track going into Stowe whereas Alonso went much wider. Alonso always much earlier on the throttle. Massa spinning his rears at Luffield lap after lap after lap, or going in too fast and having to lift off. Button always clean and tidy. Perez looking much faster, a joy to watch, driving the socks off the McLaren but ultimately slower.. Ricciardo and the Force Indias were looking so good!!! Clean and fast. Lotus flying sparks, bottoming here and there, but other than that didn't look so special. Red Bulls were like spaceships. We lose so much watching F1 on TV.. Hard to be a fanboy when you watch up close, hear and smell these cars. Here's to a clean race.

Webber starts next to Vettel meaning he's going to lose places at the start. :o

Or maybe we'll see some fireworks [-o<
