I've really noticed the camera angles at this circuit this year. Perhaps because of the elevation changes they are able to place the cameras down quite low and you can see the cars pitching up and down over the bumps, particularly in the first and second sectors. Q3 was great!

They certainly were experimenting with that. I watch each and every second of fp and I noticed also quite some time no cars were in frame, still learning to work around the problems lower camera angles provide.

Safe to say that the Ferrari is still mighty on the straights and Vettel lost Pole in the last corner. He is 3 tenths up before the S-Curves.

Quite visibly, the acceleration of this Ferrari is better. So, they still seem to have that advantage, nothing changed. I'm not even talking about top speed, which also depends much on DF, but the second phase of the acceleration.

Thanks a lot !! Watching those laps with perfect audio sync is a real joy.

Kimi looks to be a tad too tentative going into some corners during braking, which may have cost him pole. That Ferrari tho sure is the sweetest sounding machine of this bunch.

That and there are some fresh rumours about a new engine mode called K1 Plus Ferrari is using. So far there was only K1 and K2.

Mercedes is running more wing.

I’d say, with the very limited amount of long simulation runs, both teams have opted for slightly different strategies. Knowing that the race is gonna be held in warmer conditions, Mercedes are visibly running more wing. I expect Ferrari to be running aggressive, because they must and have nothing to lose.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Holy moly Lewis & Kimi took turn 3-5 flatout. Man this year's cars are crazy. Bottas is a loser, having to lift through turn 5.

BTW is this new app telemetry available for eariler grand prix? Would be great because we can add the missing telemtry to the previous pole onboards.

Racefans.net also reporting that the mysterious drop in Ferrari's performance in the last few races was just a bad update. As usual the best explanation is the one involving less drama and conspiracy.

Plus Vettel saying that he lost the time to Hamilton due to a "snap in eight". He really sounds demoralized.

Probably this. Ham was significantly faster at S's.

Fully agree. If Ferrari had a power advantage like that they would have been a second a lap faster than the merc in monza.

More wing would make them lose top speed, which happened, but not make them significantly slower in the second phase of acceleration (like from 150 to 250).

Watch the side by sides! Lewis royally screwed up turn 20 before his flying lap and was thus very slow down the front strait. he missed the Apex at turn 1, he went way to wide at turn 9, and messed up the exit at turn 20.
