Nothing new about that splitter concept. The R30 had the same (from Sepang 2010) and other teams (Ferrari and Redbull) copied it in China and Spain.

The slots could be to add or remove ballast.

Brawn used the splitter as ballast to overcome some of the W01 issues.

Any decent pictures of the diffusor kicking around?

The only ones I've seen are at an oblique angle and poorly lit, but it looks to be a very basic one at the moment, which I suppose is unsurprising at this stage of the game.

On second thought, perhaps it isn't as basic as I'd first thought. It's a shame the Sutton watermark landed where it did, it makes looking at the suspension layout a little tricky.

Anyone notice there is no center support structure for the rear wing? Is this common? I checked the R30 and it had one (at least in the launch pictures).

Very intriging. They could do like ferrari and tighten up the rear but no, they prefered to cover the top of the floor with hot air outlets...

Can't wait to see pictures of the coke bottle zone. I want to see if they managed to get the coke bottle zone to the level that Red Bull have refined theirs.

Interesting that they've also chosen an "external" way of activating the ARW. THat Total endplate is so broken up I almost thought Lotus Renault is sponsored by Toyota

Something really strange is going there on the back. From that last photo one can see, that bodywork is going all way down to the place, where diffuser starts. Why is that so? Wouldn't it be better to leave it as empty as possible?

Until now I don't know what's so innovative in it... I wish, I'll be surprised in the upcoming weeks.
