What was wrong with Alonso?

Aborted his first lap and then royally screwed up the first chicane on his only shot at a hot flying lap.
Luca looked very pissed

Yup, the Guvnor is not happy. The championship fight is now wide open; Massa must be grinning inside though!

When you do not respect cooling requirements and luck don't assist, broken things happen. Alonso 3-0 Massa tough during the weekend xD

Hopefully its not the new gearbox/engine.

I don't know if they can repair the car whilst in overnight park Ferme?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

@InsideFerrari: It looks like there was a mechanical failure on the rear of Fernando's car, possibly the rear anti-roll bar.

Yes. They can replace parts, with permission from the FIA, like for like if something fails. You'd be surprised how many teams actually change parts on the cars between qualifying and the race.

Sheesh...

Well on the qualifying finish for Massa...looks like he has shot a round across the Ferrari Stern to get their attention that he is still the "viable" team mate.

Best qualifying result for him since Canada 2011

I am afraid they sacrificed everything for that pace and race pace with a fueled up car will be worse.

If Ferrari repair rear anti-roll bar on Alonso's car, will he take the penalty for that?
Fernando Alonso is the best pay-to-drive driver in F1 with the biggest amount of money behind him.
