Maybe Red Bull are planning a 2 stopper going option prime, I'm guessing the option is probably good for 12 fast laps and the prime 20, and more if you manage them, afterwards they hit the cliff. The thing is the super-soft is clearly the faster tire so the question becomes will a fast 20 lap stint on the softs be faster than a 20 lap stint managed on the super softs, or will a 36 lap stint on managed softs be overall faster, for that to work you would not be able to use an aggressive strategy at all because you'd have to push the super softs for at least 20 laps. The sane choice will be to have an aggressive start, a managed middle stint so that you can have an aggressive final stint on the primes

Furthermore it seems tomorrow is going to be a pretty cold race, this might help alleviate tire wear, I'd love to see Perez or Raikkonen do one of their late race charges up the grid, I miss those.

To summarise - these are all educated guesses, but in truth, nobody knows what'll happen
That's pretty much my thought. They were close, Alonso would probably hold off Pastor just as easy.

I beg to differ on guesses, "my" sources were bang on last couple of races (mechanical failures excluded)... :D

I think pole is not going to be important for Vettel in this race. With the new DDRS, he should have no problem passing Webber as long he is able to keep up with him during the race.

In all fairness, it's middle of the road isn't it?

If we make the assumption that Vettel and Alonso have equal clean-air race pace, then the data, at face value, says the Ferrari is 0.7s quicker. That's 7 laps in fuel effect terms. Either Ferrari were mucking with a weird mid-stint fuel load, or they had 1 stint less fuel than Red Bull (Red Bull are actually mighty quick) or they have equal fuel to Red Bull (Ferrari are actually mighty quick)

Nevermind... it's not raining. But I thought I had seen dark clouds and rain gear on the spectators.
