Ham on 2013 tyres, both Bulls on 2012 tyres, by my reckoning. I missed the others though.

Yeh, it's very hard to tell the relative pace... The 2013 tyres were meant to be quicker... on the other hand the track rubbered in, and lewis did a lot of race pace running late in the session, rather than setting a new quick lap.

Sadly we don't know the new compond, how much fuel, testing programs ...
We know the tyres are black and round. 8)

It's FP1. FP2 will give a much better picture, as it always does.

The new tyres are heavier hence all who were testing the new tyres were running a too heavy car.

if they didn't took away weight.

what's with the dragon symbol on the back-side of the helmet.
I saw one on Schumi's helmet. I understand that they are using the same brand (Schuberth)
But I thought that symbol was Schumi's

Is it intended as a tribute for Schumacher?

HRT is starting to drive. So they have at least money for fuel

If they abuse safety or will go very slow they might not achieve the 75% lap rule within the 2 hours.
If that's the case only 50% of the points will be attributed and in this scenario Seb is already WC

So it seems like jensons sticking to the low downforce set up, well for the whole of FP2 anyway.
strange choice really, hes way off Hamilton in single lap and race pace, and with it possibly raining on race day.

although hamiltons looking immense so far, but with fuel loads who knows.

Based on what I have seen so far in FP2:

Hamilton is the fastest at low and high fuel, predicting pole and race winner,

Vettel is faster than Alonso in low fuel conditions.

Alonso seems marginally faster than Vettel in high fuel.

Yes.

The best thing for me till now has been that Mercedes does not seem to be way too far off the pace. They seem to have the pace to fight for good point scoring finishes in case everything goes normal.
