I wonder if Ferrari chanced Q2 on US because they’re expecting rain tomorrow anyway? Seb seemed bullish on the car for the race... will be a boring race without rain I fear.

Boring race if it rains? It's the one thing that brings the best drivers to the front. Personally I'd love to see a wet race with Verstappen and Hamilton going at it for the win.

The gap between the top teams and the rest is quite large here.
Awesome job by Leclerc again.
I think both Ferrari and Red Bull didn't put together the best set up only Merc managed to do that.

Sorry I edited my post. I meant without rain.

I agree, that will be the only thing that makes this race worth watching. A dry race looks... :?

Poor McLaren. With every race they seem to lose the plot in more painful ways.

They were a whopping 2.271 seconds slower than Red Bull with the same Renault engine:

Alonso: 00:01:32.976
Verstappen: 00:01:30.705

That's a team that has lost its soul.

Ferrari messing up the setup and being even worse on the normal tyres in Spain doesn't change the obvious and the obvious is that Mercedes is the team which is most comfortable on these special tyres. Is it bad to tell that or on the other hand to accept that? :)

Looking at Charles Leclerc's qualifying lap, it feels like he could have put that Ferrari on pole! :)

He is definitely the best bet to put in Kimi's seat for next year.

I really like Leclerc as a driver, and as a person. He’s so humble in his interviews and just seems like a really good, chill guy. And he can obviously drive the nads off that Sauber. Really exciting driver to watch come through. I find him way more humble and likeable out of the car than verstappen, for example.

A Verstappen/Kvyat style mid season promotion should be on Ferrari's minds. Put Leclerc in asap and Giovinazzi in the Alfa. Even if Leclerc needs a couple of races or four even to come to terms he'll start delivering a lot more than Raikkonen currently is. For the first time, I've seen Arrivabane show visible displeasure at one of his pilots.

Is there another in- season test this year? Might we see a Practice 1 appearance in the Ferrari for LeClerc this year? Just to do a head-to- head with Seb in preparation for 2019?
