Gonna watch in Spanish in good anticipation.

Heat increases the boundary layer of the asphalt, that's why cloud cover decreases lap time so dramatically. It reduces solar radiation, cooling the track reducing the boundary layer on the asphalt.

I'm unsure what you're asking me, are you asking why I think Red Bull can do it in one lap and Mercedes in two?
Ok. Let`s get started:
1.Softs has a lower operation window than mediums, right?
2.RB is struggling to warm up the medium but is able to get in the window for the soft, right?
3.Merc is in the window with the mediums and not for the softs, right?

Based on the above statement, logically for me, it seems that RB has a kinder tyre setup and Merc a much harder one.

Then what baffles me is the fact that Merc could run longer in the stints hence is kinder to the tyres ...

Where does my logic fail? Please, enlighten me!

Karoon just made a mess of it he didn't even mention that the reason why Max got such an amazing start last year was he was on the softer compound tires

It`ll be interesting to see how the overtaking will take place on the straight based on the shorted DRS zone and the qualy speed traps:

The tire wear is low, but the thermal energy in the tire is high, especially after several laps, those left tires take a pounding. Right graining may be an issue.

1) I haven't seen any information from pirelli that specifies the working temperatures of each tire so I'm unsure to that point.

For two and three, I say yes / no to both. Both teams are obviously getting them into the window, but they most likely aren't getting them to the optimal temperatures.

A lot of it comes down to how your suspension dynamics work the tires, and how your car is set up.

Additionally you have to not only get the tread up to a given temperature you have to get the core up to a good temperature as well.

What I think we are seeing is a combination of the above two factors. How the suspensions work, and each team's philosophy on what the temperature needs to be for the tread and the core before they start a hot lap.

If I had to make a wild guess, I'd assume that Red Bull is good at heating up the tread surface but not so much the core. I'm betting Mercedes is the opposite.

Good news for Verstappen this, I reckon. If he can get the tyres up to temp quicker.

There's your answer why they wanted an extra safety car lap.

Increase the drama for the team's on mediums.

Hamilton ovetaken on the outside again and, this time, VER kept it on track. This is getting quite humiliating now
