The same rule as is in place in 2012 occurs.

However, the front bulkhead has a max height limit of 525mm above the reference plane.

so no rule on nose tip then? In that case, my nose meets regs, :) :D

GP2 style center exiting exhausts!? :wtf:

And on the top left hand corner is says that these cars will be 5 seconds slower, that's a very significant amount. But I expect the reality to be less, since the same was expected during the 2009 aero rule changes IIRC.

yeah i read on a few articles saying the cars will be 5 seconds slower, im sure the engineers will find a way to lessen that number. plus i didnt understand the double exhausts since it will be coming out of a turbo

Seems a bit much to disallow the barge boards and turning vanes...

Frankly, if they're going to have DRS and KERS anyways, why not make up the difference in pace due to reduction in power and allow for higher downforce with larger diffusers (the rear wings probably won't go back to full width between the wheels because the thin rear wings are supposed to encourage following and overtaking)? Sure, they may not have the same raw power, but increases in downforce should get back race pace and encourage more daring overtakes on the turns.

I believe the idea is to move away from aero dependance.

Generally speaking, cars of the last 25 years that have gone on to win, have been the best aerodynamically.
This rule set is a small attempt at redressing the balance.

What about the tyre wars of 2001-2006. I remember that Montezemolo said it was a tyre championship and not about the cars at all. So it can't have been all about aero. And engine power was also something that mattered before the freeze.

I agree that dual exhaust pipes are not very likely with the single turbo. It would be counter productive to a nice engine sound. The cars are more likely to become higher over the gear box and have wider side pots. They will need more space for inter coolers and for the turbo and MGU-H over the gear box.

If we're moving away from aero dependence, then I say go whole hog and get back to Cigar Cars. What's the pinnacle of motorsport if you take away the tools to get there?

I will not be looking too forward to 2014 in terms of outright track pace. I just hope there's good racing.

Is there an advantage to moving the radiator inlets more forward?

Were there any know advantages to this Jordan design?

Wouldn't you want to do that? Drive all 6 headers into one turbo to maximise your boost gains?

I'm not saying these factors didnt matter WB. tyres specifically where a big factor, but Aero was still all important.
