in the worst case scenario a car could be trap inside the tunnel with cars waiting behind it, which would make recovery effort more difficult. And this could mean those pit cars behind might have to wait for a few minutes before they could rejoin the track. If its a few minutes, that would mean that team like HRT and Marussia could actually end up finishing i points.

So here's a screwed up theory - just for the hell of it. Say Webber, 1 place ahead of Alonso, pits on the same lap. He's just ahead, and does his usual drift in the tunnel (a lot of drivers seem to like sliding the rear around in the tunnel to get it pointed to the exit)

Webber in this scenario overdoes it, and his tyre hits the wall, damaging the right rear suspension beyond repair.

Or replace it to Vettel & Massa.

CHT - you bring up an absolutely fascinating point. Knock on wood though. I hope the championship doesn't get adversely affected in that way.

I would expect that, if any of the title challengers are caught in such a way then Charlie would throw a red flag. If just mid fielder/back markers are caught then I reckon he wouldn't.

Bernie won't want a title decided by something as silly as a blocked pitlane - not good advertising for a premium-level series.

I think the field should be closer here, as this track isn't as aero as India. Extrapolating from Singapore which is a similar track and from what I've read, I think Force India and Williams will be strong here too. Remember Maldonado qualified 2nd in Singapore.

A little bit more emphasis on power and kerb riding required though - thanks to the long straights as well as the last sector. Mind you they've added for this year the orange sausage type kerbs to stop the drivers taking so much kerb in Sector 3.

Downforce "depends" on square the speed, so
(311/277)^2 * 1200 = 1513
Things actually may be a little more tricky, but the amount is approximately that
