More than probable they beat the lap record, 1:13.6. Last year being 1:14.4, can we expect at least 1:12.6?

Why are we still talking about lap records (as in race records) instead of outright track record?
Outright record is 1:12.275 from 2004, but I'm not 100% track was entirely the same.
Next best is 1.13:014 from 2011.

Brakes are the biggest problem, even for Mercedes. Fuel consumption is also important.

Yeah, Perez could achieve another good result.

Brakes became a problem for Mercedes in 2014, but otherwise, there weren't any cries last year.

On the contrary Rosberg suffered brake problems (on and off ) the whole race last season and despite that was close to Hamilton.
- "So Raikkonen has pitted, push hard now. Go strat five." No problems
- "Nico, brake wear is now critical. So we’d like you to manage it for the next ten laps before you attack Lewis." Too quick.
- "You’ve done a really good job with brakes, there. We want you to continue like that for the moment, it will give us margin to attack." Wise strategy. Mercedes didn't send any letters afterwards.

It is one thing to ask for managing and another when it is terminal. My point is, no one had terminal problems with brakes in Canada, like it was in Bahrain 2015. Being proactive in managing safety of their equipment is different from suffering terminal issues.

I expect Hamilton to own the weekend and finally have one trouble free. Williams will be in the podium mix with Red Bull and Ferrari. Max will hit the wall because he's that good.

Yea I am quite interested to see how Ferrari, Red Bull, and Williams stack up against each other this weekend.

Last year Mercedes was doing race laps in the 1:19's and worked himself down to mid to high 1:17's, they've improved roughly 1.5 to 1.75 seconds per lap so I'm guessing Mercedes is going to be capable of doing low 18's high 17's to start and end up around low 16's. Remember these numbers during FP1 and FP2, we should be able to get a decent reading on what kind of race laps to expect by then. Which will pretty much give us the pecking order.

Qualifying is a little harder to judge because we don't know how much teams turn the engines up, or who has secret quali modes etc. For the race, they have a fixed quantity of gasoline so you can pretty much guess and be about 90% right.

I'd expect Hamilton will be sharp and fast from lap one of the weekend, trying to push Rosberg into some catch-up mindset and hoping on errors on his side.

Maybe new curse words from Vettel and a smile from Riciardo?

This is going to be an insane race, get this, it seems that the rain, if it comes at all on race day, is going to be towards the end of the race. Whoever is near the pit lane when it starts pouring is going to make out like a bandit.
