Renault Sport F1 R.S.17

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

On a second look, I'm amazed how tight the rear end of the car is, they really did a great job of chassis - engine & transmission integration

I fear that all these cars are going to have a very slim rear for the simple fact that they're so long. They must be pushing 5 metres long now.

The car has Matte paint like Williams and Redbull.
The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

Interesting support for the vertical side fin. And a steep plunge for the radiator covers.

I reckon this will be the fifth fastest car. its an aggressive design more like what we where expecting. much shorter wheelbase than the sauber makes it look wider. not a fan of the livery though they might have done that to hide the rear end

Increased floor width makes sidepods look thinny

After yesterday's let down from Sauber...this one looks brilliant!! Although I don't like shark fins, on this one I don't care! Really nice car! Interesting developments...especially at the bargeboards and at the rear...so tightly packaged!! Is it me or is the bargeboad square instead of the usual triangular shape teams use??

Clever solution regarding the bargeboards and the sidepod turning vanes. They used the bargeboard regulation box to increase the size of the sidepod turning vane.

Those are very Long Pylons under the nose and holding the wing, a Nice combination maybe,
I agree Livery not helping much, Yellow and Black can work but is like they missed to make it gel together.
