It strongly depends on how other countries react, this is a pure country based decision.
We can not sell/export from Germany a single screw to Russia as of today...
I do not know how Italy or the UK handles it....we still have UK based companies that are Russian import companies on our list of customers....and are warned about selling to them. So I think UK is more relaxed, but still getting a F1 car and parts to Russia is maybe very difficult in the end.

And possibly subsequently getting it out will be hard too.

NATO got involved to stop a genocide. That's not a reason to cancel races.
    This is great! I would have so much to say but we would have to meet on some other forum or have a drink at the local bar. It would be a long conversation. Let it be as it is, the planet is still spinning and I would say GO FERRARI!

I know F1 had still races in countries that were at war or had military conflict nearby but is this the first time that's happened on the European continent?
Not the first time. From March to June 1999, a war was fought on European soil in which the whole of NATO took part. No race in those countries has been canceled. I'm just saying.
That’s true, but F1 didn’t have a race in any of those countries. Especially not the “aggressor”’s backyard so to speak.

Regardless, Vettel has already said he’s not racing in Sochi.

Hope they cancel it. The track is boring anyway.

Russia has invaded another country for no reasons other than it wants the territory and control of the Black Sea.

That's why the Russian GP should be dropped.
For some, it's hard to recognize the difference between an invasion and... Just Passing By.
(ok, that deserves a 5s time penalty)

But yeah, this is rather an unprecedented situation. There seem to be talks on replacing Russia with Turkey. Not the most democratic, either, but at least not actively invading others..
Turkey is uninvited but has occupied chunks of Syria.Active in Libya, Cyprus etc. There is a vision to recreate the Ottoman Empire.[

Turkey ain't on a full scale war with any countries tho. If FIA are gonna cancel races for occupying some places for security reasons, then FIA should also drop the races on United States. TAF has a defensive doctrine since Turkish Republic founded. Most ofensive thing they did was the invasion of Northern Cyprus and that happened after 10 years of talk with UN bring nothing to the safety of the Turkish nationalities on the island. Thats why its called Cyprus Peace Operation and thats why Turkey didnt invade the island completely. Nobody in his right mind wants Ottoman Empire back in Turkey, most of them are trash talk to foreigners.

Putin/Russia drove tanks into and fired missies at a sovereign nation. So yes, the Russian GP and the dealings of Russian billionaires abroad are in jeopardy.

They hit 74 military bases now, likely preventing any strong fight-back from Ukraine. On the economics side, Russian stocks have tanked by nearly 50% overnight. This could impact Uralkali's sponsorship maybe?

Its likely that Portimao takes the place of Sochi. The Portuguese GP will be right after the Italian GP making it very convenient.

This will be over next week, and forgotten soon after.

I mean, Saudi chops up inconvenient journalists. From Putins perspective, he's protecting historically Russian bloodlines from genocide in East Ukraine. I don't agree with what he did, but I can follow his calculations. 🙄

I think you underestimate the situation. Whilst the military action might be over, the sanctions etc will last a long time. They need to in order to reduce the military budget and deter Putin from attacking any NATO members.

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️
