Was that still under SC? There are races that finished clearly under SC(passing the checker with the SC), but that looks more like a Restart....

I was surprised they pulled the SC, but if you look at the field, they all "sprint" to the line, which would imply it was under racing condition. But usually you can't pass unless you are over the flag stand though(in most other series), though does that only apply to leader or not I don't know...

The new safety car regulations that allow passing from the as soon as the cars have passed the safety car control line, didn't we all go over this in the Chinese GP thread when Hamilton jumped all over the Red Bulls? Fairly certain it could be legitimate.

Great race from Webber clobbered the field twice in 8 days, well deserved victory. Alonso and Ferrari did well today to get the most of an awful situation. Wily move from Schumacher gets some more points, cheeky!

Seems the rookies couldn't hold themselves or their cars together with all the glitz, so Monaco has put on a reasonable show which is good.

Damn it Speed. Not even interviews? They threw it off directly to Nascar's coverage, like 126 hours before the race. wtf?

Download the pdf, rule changes are in pink.

Like most things, it's the pink bits that matter.

HRT, Virgin and Lotus account for 6 of 18 position moves. Plus.. for everyone saying "overtaking is impossible," FA would seem to have proved otherwise.
Fact is he did not pass a single old car just the newbies that are no challenge for a top team car down the tunnel to the harbour chicane. Every Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren or Merc driver worth his super license would have done that.

Thank God that the most pointless race on the calendar is finished. Now we can go back to racing on race tracks.

Without the middle / back markers chucking it at the scenery to bring out the safety car it would have been a light to flag procession.

Monaco = Bahrain - excitement.

Yawn.

Quite an interesting race.
Great combat between Vettel and Kubica! I thought Kubicas drivin in Monaco was amazing, so energetic and on the edge.

Webber schooled the rest of the pack in how to race at Monaco this year.

Heikki went out because a steering joint failed.

I think the Schu vs Alonso will go on for a while. Depending on what regulation you're using.
Either race from the SC(white) line or you have to finish in order when SC comes in on last lap.

Pretty straight forward.

Safety car enterd in the pits on the last lap. cars cannot overtake. [-X

So what? Why downplay it? Clearly a better gameplan than everyone behind him.

And let's not get too horny for MS just yet.

Fantastic!!! They will be royally pissed off in Italy that Michele magic bumped their red goddess with the silver car. Alonso will be fuming.
Did that happen during or after the SC? They were supposed to hold position!

The move is legit!
Schumacher pounced after the white safety car line  Half of italy and all of Spain are in mourning.

Over the hill? Well put that in your pipe and smoke it!

One major element. If it ends while the safety car is deployed. Tgis wan't the case as it gave the message I'm going in.

From my understanding the 'safetar will enter at the end of last lap' is not equal to giving the message 'I will enter at the end of the last lap'.

BBC clearly stated a new rule for 2010 under the safety car is the new white line.
Once the safety car is in, and all cars have passed said white line, the race is effectively restarted.
NO, its not the start finish line. It was 10 meters before the final corner.
Schumacher was behind alonso at this point.

LEGIT!

Sounds pretty damn similar to me.

In any event, doesn't make sense that you'd have a fraction of a lap sprint right at the end. Even NASCAR gets it better than that...

But the safety car was in and they were allowed to race from the white safety car line. Alonso was taking a little nap there and got a rude wake up call. Schumi absolutely brilliant! As he already told his brother once this is racing and no about taking naps.
