It also seems to have an effect on the diffuser, but we need another angle to see what's the interaction between the upper level and the exhausts.
is it a good idea to warm the rears ? I always thought it was the fronts they had the trouble to get temps up quickly and maintain..
The new fronts are seemingly easier to warm up quickly. However, that is dependant on what steering system and set up any team is running on a car.

I think this solution will be acted on by Renault first, then STR will demonstrate a "simmlar soluton" for their "diffrent car" and then by Ferarri and BMW Sauber. The Renault and Ferarri engines seemingly are better at reacting to diffferent engine bananna configurations for their exausts. The Mercedes banannas are generally set once the season starts, thats one installation problem the Brawn BGP001 had last year, the banannas were too tall, and Mercedes allowed the end to be snipped off by 5cm and one part changed orientation by 180 degreese to fit their package. Not sure abpit the the Cossies with that solution.

Im sure this could be a hidden development war, exausts and engine banannas. As it provides a tyre warmer solution as well as a CoG influence, whitch is always welcomed. DDD Interfacing, the properties are yet un-known with this develipment.

Time for a dumb question. What is an engine bananna?

At a guess: exhaust / exhaust manifold

So you expect a revolutionary change for Bahrain?

And out of interest... why aren't you at your post?

Hi guys, I posted these on autosport to show the exhaust flow, it's not exactly CFD but you get the point.

To all the delusional Kimi fans expecting him to get Webbers seat next year, not gonna happen!

AutoSport - No plans to hire Raikkonen - Mateschitz
Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz have denied plans to hand Kimi Raikkonen a seat in his team if the Finn decides to return to Formula 1.

Raikkonen is currently competing in the World Rally Championship after securing a deal with the Citroen junior team, which is backed by Red Bull.

The 2007 world champion admitted the move could be permanent and that he is yet to decide on his plans for 2011.

But Mateschitz has made it clear that despite Raikkonen's link with Red Bull, there are no plans to hand the Finn a seat next year.

"This is nothing more than pure speculation," said Mateschitz. "We do not know what Kimi intends to do in one year. We have a very good relationship which makes room for speculations.

"But to tell you now Kimi will be racing for us in 2011 is not serious. If Webber provides top performances this year we will not reward him by giving his cockpit to Raikkonen."

Australian Mark Webber has a contract with Red Bull Racing until the end of this year, while team-mate Sebastian Vettel has a contract until 2012.

I don't recall anyone actually saying that there would be something revolutionary for Bahrain. The original comment was:

There's nothing about Bahrain in here and nothing about Bahrain in the post you replied to after either. There will, however, be changes as all the teams are still doing. Mercedes themselves still have something coming for Bahrain (allegedly), but no one mentioned anything revolutionary for Bahrain with respect to Red Bull.
And out of interest... why aren't you at your post?
Uh, huh. Right................

There's another thread to put this in somewhere and it's all been said before. It's all he said, she said right now. Mateschitz is hardly likely to cast doubt on Webber's seat now before a potentially title winning year.

According to Pit Stop (f1.pl) in Barcelona Red Bull put stickers looking like exhaust on the engine cover trying to fool spying members of other teams where the exhaust is located.

Any confirmation from other source?

I'm still trying to figure out what those engine banannas could be.

However, those exhausts are not directed at the tires. It's not needed for the rear tires anyways. They are easily warm-able through the use of excessive throttle (wheel spin) and braking (heating the discs + rims). Gotta be something about aerodynamics I suppose. Unfortunately there are really few pics giving a good look at the upper side of the diffuser.

It's on a lot of other websites...seen the pictures...

The exhaust is now only a few cm's off the floor and is a blatent attempt to energise the diffuser.

I know since yesterday where the real exhaust is - thanks to this forum! I gotta find some pictures with that stickers ;)
