I watched the video in hopes of seeing the marshalls who were said to be still out on the track side. But alas, no marshalls or anything. The yellows were being waved for nothing.

Nice going FIA. And we're being called fanboy, delusional etc. even if we hint that Lewis might be getting different treatment.

Last race weekend, taking the shortcut which was specifically forbiden under any circumstance, Vettel goes ahead and does it (and in quali, mind you!) = no penalty.

This weekend; wrong yellows = penalty. The yellows are wrong as long as evidence of on track marshalls isn't published. No photo I've seen, nor the video shows marshalls on the side of the track.

Button sets fastest sector time under yellows = no penalty. Now I've read that his first and last sector times were among the top three, but saying that his s2 time being down there around 10th place is proof that he lifted is one hell of an assumption.

I don't know why but this made me think of Le Mans and that Mercedes flying up up in the air.

I think Hamilton could have protested as he would have had a strong case, I think there are various reasons why he didn't. No championship anymore and he want's to keep out of the stewards office, I think he just decided it wasn't worth it.
Results from that video:
FIA PWNED
Forum Haters here PWNED

Diesel is right, not worth it. Hamilton's words quoted earlier in this thread are dripping with double entendres and veiled sarcasm and vitriol. He's right to have that attitude. FIA are a disgrace as are some haters here too.

Vettel looks like he'll run away with it, no surprise there. Alonso seems to think he can sneak a win, but he's said that at just about every race so far. I hope there is some excitement at the start. Maybe Weblo will actually have a good start and jump Fingers.

How do we know this isn't photoshoped?
The clock, seems inconsistent with the video.

The issue is the green lights and the confused signals. Also consistency when it comes to breaking rules, which Button did.
I have given up on having any faith in the stewards many races ago, so it doesn't make any difference who is more right or wrong any way. The crux is consistency in handing out penalties for equal breaches, especially those with the intention of breaching and hoping a good track record will be the get out of jail free card.

I think you're getting confused. This is not his final and fastest lap, which is shown in the video, this is his second last lap.

I can understand your frustrations though. But for this case, let's leave it at that.

Look at the above pictures Sasuke. They are clearly a sequence, not just from the time stamps either. Take a look at the curbs on the left hand side of the picture. On his acceleration out of the bend. There is one on exit - it stops - then restarts once again for whatever reason. Now look at the bottom picture. The odd start stop curbing re-appears and on what would be the left hand side of the circuit.

If you don't believe the timestamps then at least believe physical landmarks. To me the timestamps help to clarify where Hamilton is on circuit as this is all going on.

Personally I'm a little iffy on whether he deserved a penalty. YES the flags were out, but only with one marshall and with a whole heap of contridictory signs. Perhaps a reprimand or some other kind of talking to would have sufficed. It wasn't entirely clear to him, the viewing public, the marshalls OR the FIA.

The last photo looks like there's a pit lane entry line painted near it - maybe this was the last straight leading onto the pit straight? I didn't watch practice this weekend so I wouldn't know if I'm awfully wrong on the location

The BBC say F1 is too expensive for them yet the pre shows must cost a fortune
i could live without DC and EJ doing travel guides around india and texas now jake is bringing jenson on a track guide in a tuk tuk ffs
lose the pre show keep the live races simple

Will be interesting to see how the drivers handle overtaking when it appears that the cleanest sections of the track will be in the middle and left and right will be full of dust...
