Most avoidable thing ever...

Literally a known issue after every street track in the world.

Loose frame which cover installs in. Completely new issue, unknown before.

Broken chassis for Ocon suspected. Major issues for Carlos as well but not clear yet if they will change chassis. Probably.

From what I see so far, Russell is very wrong about this. That back straight (the vegas strip) is enormous.
Both statements can be true. The straight can be long (it is) and the DRS be much less effective with the skinny rear wings this track will likely see. Monza has the exact same issue, with it being notoriously tough to overtake despite the long straights.

Let's hope the race organizers have some Flexseal on them to seal shut the drain covers :D

Saw the photo. It was a water valve cap, probably for a hydrant off to the side.

The casing the cap is welded too literally shattered at the top. Somehow the car bottomed enough to grab it and literally shatter the top of casing. Wild.

Too many distractions perhaps the important details weren't checked

That isn’t a broken weld. That’s a complete failure of the casing and took a chunk of asphalt with it.

The more reason why they should've tested their asphalt and welds. They literally poured the topping at the last minute... meanwhile they spent more time overhyping this Monaco wannabe race. Hope they give back 45min to fp2

It is going to be a sh*tshow. I am predicting no more running today. Hope this is the first and last Vegas grand prix. Thing looks even worse than Qatar.
