Let's see what happens later when Merc is on fresh mediums with a lighter fuel load. But if it rains, Ferrari's strategy just may play out.

Did nico deliberately let vettel through just before the drs line? Good thinking, he must have seen he was gonna get passed if vettelhad drs on the main straight.

Which they won't be. Unless they 3 stop. Then they have no change to make the up deficit.

Different tyres, different levels of wear, mercedes have made a poor strategy call today

I wonder if the very high track temperature is helping/hindering the Ferrari/Mercedes respectively. The Ferrari really looks happy where the Mercedes doesn't. They're both in a different league to everyone else though.

So, three stop vs two stop now.

Yea i think they f*cked the strategy, they are completely out of position now with Ferrari. Mercedes has to stop again, So do Vettel, except he´s 16 seconds up the road.

The only thing that could work is that Vettel has to stop for Hards while Hamilton can take another set of mediums.

edit: 22 seconds up the road..

Yeah, I think Merc/Hamilton can still take it, unless it rains...then Ferrari will have the strategic advantage.

Vettel can only drive well in Newey cars.

Looks like two Ferraris and a Mercedes on the podium at this stage. Which is rather surprising to say the least.

We'll need to see if this pace carries in to the next race or two. If it does then the season looks like it could be more interesting for non-Mercedes fans.

Guys, can we keep the fanboy stuff out of this thread. We know certain people like certain drivers but this thread isn't the place for it. Thanks - from a race fan. :)

I think Kimi is actually fighting against Massa for the 4th, not the Mercs and Vettel.
