Did Chandhok finish or did he retire with a mechanical failure? I'd be furious if the car broke down because it ran over Barrichello's steering wheel!

edit. nevermind. Chandhok was the subject of Trulli's "mounting"...

puncture I believe

IMHO Rubens did a great foul there. Chandhok suffered a tyre blow out I believe. Rubens should be penalized.

Wow, thats really effed up,that is a 50K piece of kit he just chucks out like that, and onto the racing line no less. I like Rubans, but he should be both penalized by the FIA and fined by both his team and the FIA. Why did he crash? Mechanical problem or driver error?

It's a bit stupid...if the race is meant to end under the SC, then the SC should lead the cars across the finish line!
Fair enough, but it all seems somewhat contradictory because the regs say the SC will come in at the end of the last lap even if the race finishes under the SC. it doesnt say that it will lead them over the start/finish line.

Once again the regulation monster clouds things.
Did you see the last lap??

It was displayed clearly that "SC in the lap"

and the SC's light was switched off! and there were green lights on the last corner

If the SC was just to come in the last lap...the message wouldnot have been displayed in the last lap
The SC would have just peeled off, without any green flags

that was pretty bad stuff from Rubens
Why would he want to throw the S wheel on to the race track
I think he should be penalized for that....that was really dangerous

second time in two races when MS brought the car home 1 place ahead of what any other in his place would have managed. =D>
very cool move and seemingly not all involved are aware of the rules.quite interesting with 300+ headcount and all those millions of dollars/€ spent every year
it would make sense to have at least ONE sporting rule expert on the pitwall....

So Ross brawn is just the right guy to be in charge.even though they screwed up in Q3 this time..

Alonso and Ferrari have been severely embarrassed there.

And this is the question. :) I think regulations don't say it clearly.

I'm going to ask politely for you guys to calm down about the Schumacher-Alonso pass. Unfortunately a presentation from both sides has been fruitless as the timing of the 'event' was in a somewhat 'gray' area. As always, some people just take it too far and start bickering endlessly, and in the process kill threads.

Interesting bit from Joe Saward:
It is worth noting that according to the timing system Fernando Alonso crossed the line at the end of the first Safety Car ahead of Karun Chandhok. Race Control either missed this, or chose to ignore it.
Well not if his pass was exactly the same as MS = pass after SC line but before 'the line'

How much does McLaren spend a year, and they can't think to figure out the radiator plugs should be a bright/distinct color so nobody forgets to remove them before the race?

How much did Ferrari spend on their nifty pit light system, but didn't think to put a failsafe switch in to stop the lollipop light going green when the fuel hose is still attached?

I was really shocked when Trulli 'mounted' Chandhoks car! It seriously scared me to think that it would be a [near] fatal accident, thank God that it wasn't. But Chandhok was 'bumped' right? Or did he just cover his head with his hands as a sort of natural reaction?

Says mx_tifosi. I know you're sore but that's no reason to take it out on other people. Bugger me.

This is the race thread and people will legitimately discuss incidents that involve drivers and teams falling asleep.
