Heat stains appearing in the same spot again, even with these 3 new holes, also the lacquer in front of the heat stains seems a bit bubbly (or is that a trick of the light). I don't believe we are talking about a two dollar exhaust clip having come loose here.

I would think that the slots are just a temporary solution to mitigate the burning to the point they can run. They will be looking at a re-packaging solution and new rear bodywork for later in the test or Melbourne.

Yes! As much as I want to stay optimistic about this, it just hasn't gone away. Doesn't look good
OR... perhaps the part is just too close to the bodywork, changing the bodywork will affect the aerodynamic of the car

yeah i think its the same as before,

they might have the ovens at Mclaren full with australia Spec carbon parts in the making...

they just made some holes and thats it... but yeah, not very Mclaren like...

Could be, perhaps they didn't want to spent the time on making a new part/repainting it. But at the very least they have now added three slots to them. Why would you do that if the heat staining was caused by a malfunctioning tightener/screw (which will never happen again). They are making changes to this area, that we can see.

Definitely the same engine cover. The marks were visible when they started today.
