It is a car alright. Did he imagine that it was Hamilton transformed into that carbon fibre thing with some metal guts and big rubber wheels for legs?

Like in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013? Nobody can drag a bad car to wins and championships. Occasional highlights yes, but that's about it.
Always has been and always will, unless it becomes a pseudo spec series. Even then it matters. The same teams and drivers dominate spec series too, just the gap is closer.
That's exactly what both Hamilton and Alonso used to say when Vettel was dominating.foxmulder_ms wrote: β04 Dec 2020, 21:48With that mindset, Redbull/Max will never win a championship.. so... keep it up
But I would love to see F1 as driver's battle instead of car's. Remember that F1 drivers are called "the best drivers in the world". Apart from fact that this is not true (WRC drivers should be called that) it's bull s**t while driver factor is quite low comparing to car's one.
It is in every series in the world. The point is to be the best driver to get the best seat.Unf wrote: β04 Dec 2020, 21:56But I would love to see F1 as driver's battle instead of car's. Did you miss the race in Turkey Hamilton won with a car that clearly wasnβt the best that weekend (Seb confirmed this as well)?Unf wrote: β04 Dec 2020, 21:56But I would love to see F1 as driver's battle instead of car's. Yes... exactly like in those years, 2009 probably being the best example, 2 victories in a car that certainly wasn't the best car on the grid, and his teammate was nowhere. Alonso did similar things in the underperforming Ferrari and Russell has been putting the Williams where it doesn't belong this season.Moore77 wrote: β04 Dec 2020, 21:33Like in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013? Even Senna couldn't do much in 1992 and 1993.
