I dont know why lewis was so slow, was it a set up issue again? because even before the collison he was slower than jenson by 3-4 tenths a lap consistently, then it got worse after his coming together.
Its strange because in the past he's never lacked pace, maybe he needs to do more high fuel work in practice. ...
It`s all about set-up compromise between qualifying and the race.
In Michael`s case his car was obviously set biased for the race as he always do that. Therefore his qualy times speaks for him. In contrast Nico`s set-up is more biased towards qualifying knowing the fact that he is a bit faster than Michael regarding pure speed over a lap. But Michael overcome this issue with a better race pace hence his results ... well, when he is not tangled by someone ...
Regarding other pilots I think RB`s both pilots since Monza were focused to bias the set-up toward the race, due to the fact that qualifying has no crucial importance anymore. That`s way McLaren had closed the gap in qualy in the last races and not due to their improved ultimate pace in qualy or changed bias towards the qualy. In Lewis case his set-up was biased in the last couple of races towards the qualy and Jenson vice-versa. In some aspect is like Nico`s compared to Michael`s set-up. Sometimes works sometimes didn`t and I saw that the temperature has a lot of influence of the outcome. The hotter is the worse is for Lewis`s setup.
From nowadays drivers I like Lewis the most(except Michael)because he`s a pure racer, a breed unfortunately faced to extinction ... But sometimes he`s so bold in his action on the track that it affects his judgement. And the split between him and Nicole surely does that. In this particular case is crystal clear that you couldn`t pass, in normal circumstances, on this turn. Even Lewis was on the racing line, Felippe was at least with his nose in front when they took the turn ...
