I dont know why lewis was so slow, was it a set up issue again? because even before the collison he was slower than jenson by 3-4 tenths a lap consistently, then it got worse after his coming together.
Its strange because in the past he's never lacked pace, maybe he needs to do more high fuel work in practice. ...
It`s all about set-up compromise between qualifying and the race.
In Michael`s case his car was obviously set biased for the race as he always do that. Therefore his qualy times speaks for him. In contrast Nico`s set-up is more biased towards qualifying knowing the fact that he is a bit faster than Michael regarding pure speed over a lap. But Michael overcome this issue with a better race pace hence his results ... well, when he is not tangled by someone ...

Regarding other pilots I think RB`s both pilots since Monza were focused to bias the set-up toward the race, due to the fact that qualifying has no crucial importance anymore. That`s way McLaren had closed the gap in qualy in the last races and not due to their improved ultimate pace in qualy or changed bias towards the qualy. In Lewis case his set-up was biased in the last couple of races towards the qualy and Jenson vice-versa. In some aspect is like Nico`s compared to Michael`s set-up. Sometimes works sometimes didn`t and I saw that the temperature has a lot of influence of the outcome. The hotter is the worse is for Lewis`s setup.

From nowadays drivers I like Lewis the most(except Michael)because he`s a pure racer, a breed unfortunately faced to extinction ... But sometimes he`s so bold in his action on the track that it affects his judgement. And the split between him and Nicole surely does that. In this particular case is crystal clear that you couldn`t pass, in normal circumstances, on this turn. Even Lewis was on the racing line, Felippe was at least with his nose in front when they took the turn ...

Whoops - most of the videos on the BBC website are UK only; and so I assumed (wrongly so) that it was one of those

There isn't much to say about the race is it. I was gobsmacked(his words) with Lewis today, and that's got nothing to do with the contact. JB drove brilliantly all race, while Hamilton trundled at the back of Massa the entire first stint. They(the team) didn't even make an attempt to undercut Massa, the bad thing is it seemed like Lewis didn't have the pace to pull it off; which is plain disappointing. Lewis needs to have a good look at what's Button doing right. The only difference from Korea was the temperature here, Lewis might not be able to use the tyres properly in hot conditions, which he must get on top of asap, or for him 2012 won't be any different than 2011.

Well to go back to the race it was kinda boring.

Vettel Button looked like a midget vs a giant fight.
Vettel was holding button at arms distance, and Buttons swings couldn't touch him.

The redbull is too dominant, and Vettel knows how to use it well. He has masted race control.
He runs the race like a marathon runner. Go out hard in the begining, control the gap, control the gap, push hard 3 laps before the pitstop to make a cushion.
Control gap control gap. Push a little to the finish.

That's it, and no challengers. The FIA need to stop penalizing hamilton. we need Vettel to be running scared!
It's no coincidence the boring races have Hamilton outside the top positions.

Vettel needs to go down next race. He's making this looks to easy.

Hamilton needs to stop giving them a reason.

Well, he hasn't done for 2 races now (big achievement  ), so shall we drop it before this race thread becomes a hornets nest?

I think the penalty for Massa was more than justified. You can see him look at Hamilton just before the corner when Hamilton is already on his left side and just turn in.

Massa needs to be replaced. He's a solid number two, but there are better drivers out there that would take much better advantage of his seat than he is. If I were Lewis, I'd seriously consider crashing a few of his interviews and play Mr. Nice Guy but be a total interrupting asshole at the same time. Maybe Lewis needs to no --- take him out and maybe Massa will stay away from him next time.

Sutil needs to make a visit to ferarri. Massa is wasting the seat and making a mockery of ferarri with his whinging.

I have been saying for years now that he's (Massa) a waste of space. And I doubt that Sutil will ever get a drive with Ferrari.

I recall Massa being a very aggressive & attacking driver in the early years with Sauber.

I think Sutil has been shown up by Di Resta this year. A rookie that close to his teammate has got to do damage to Sutil in some way. I'll bet he's taking a trip to Williams and Rubens is gone, or he's out of F1 next year. Hulkenburg didn't impress much at Williams before, well to me anyway, but I'll bet he takes Sutil's seat. Sutil should have crushed Di Resta seeing as he is a rookie a few years out of single seaters and coming of a DTM championship in a completely different formula. Maybe they should toss Badoer in there! Or even better, get Fisi back since his LMS commitments are done for this year (I think).
