Is it still raining? Can you let us know when it's stopped?

Thanks.

Sky f1 has commented on LH qualy disqualification. Anyone has a YouTube link?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7CvWa2wVKk - somehow I can't help picturing Hamilton having about the same reaction as in the video at 7secs

Buttomline is McLaren doesn't appear to have adequate risk management incorporated in their operations.

The Stewards received a report from the Race Director which stated that during post-qualifying
scrutineering a sample of fuel was required from car 4, however, the car failed to return to the pits under
its own power as required under Article 6.6.2 of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.
The Stewards heard from the team representative Mr Sam Michael who stated that the car stopped on
the circuit for reasons of force majeure. A team member had put an insufficient quantity of fuel into the
car thereby resulting in the car having to be stopped on the circuit in order to be able to provide the
required amount for sampling purposes.
As the amount of fuel put into the car is under the complete control of the Competitor the Stewards
cannot accept this as a case of force majeure.
The Stewards determine that this is a breach of Article 6.6.2 of the FIA Formula One Technical
Regulations and the Competitor is accordingly excluded from the results of the Qualifying Session. The
Competitor is however allowed to start the race from the back of the grid

Mclaren screwing with Hamilton again. I guess that was the only way to get him behind Button.

Yeah, but they still allow to park a car on the track after winning the race right? So fair.

FIA is one big bullshit!

No, it has stopped. 1 hour of rain.

Nico: I hope to make up a few places at the start, but generally the race will be really hard for us. A Top 6 is the target much more than that will be very difficult to achive tomorrow.

I think once won the race it is not as much important as qualy.
If you have enough petrol for Fia test and the weigh of the car and driver are between regulations the race has been won.

But in qualy if this little difference of fuel and as close as the times are this year could mean you gain positions.
And I think thats why they apply for quali and not race.

Anyone want to guess if there are some more racist dinosaurs in FIA.
With all due respect, I believe you are a tad out of line with that one.
For sure, a degree of circumspection would be wise. But in saying that and considering all relevant factors that make LH a target for the more severe penalty, it does raise the question about what is significant or singularly unusual about Mr Hamilton?

At Bahrain...

"Jean-Eric Vergne has been given a reprimand for not stopping at the weighbridge after his qualifying effort at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The Frenchman, who was knocked out in Q1, missed the signal to stop, so his car could be weighed as he returned to the garage."

Compare the punishment for that with Lewis'. Fundamentally the two are not dissimilar in severity.

This is hugely unfair, Lewis was over half a second clear from the 2nd placed driver and with a couple more liters on board he'd still be comfortably on pole.

A huge f... up on both McLaren and FIA's side...

Well, wasn't part of the rationale to dividing up quali into 3 segments to decrease the number of cars on track so the faster guys have a clear track? Today's quali was definitely good fun to watch! Perhaps there should be some points awarded in quali to the drivers only? Drivers would still be awarded points in the race just a fraction per postion in quali. Obviously teams would still be awarded points in the constructors championship as normal during the race. I think this would possibly keep the drivers more on point and less influenced by team/tire strategy..

I don't remember this - how many hot laps did Hamilton do in Q3? Maybe that was one more than Mclaren expected? I can't believe that so experienced team could do so basic mistake. Again...

I think they should supply on set of tyres more for qualy and then for the race reduced to the actual number but leaving the teams to choose the sets that bring to the race and eliminate the one more damaged.
