Fernando's praise to Lewis in Spa last year!
Atleast Lewis is man enough to blame himself if he's in the wrong (like spa), something nando and max are still too big of an ego's to do so.
Does that change the fact that he still makes rookie errors. Let's focus on race! :D

Interesting that RB are topping this metric but it's not really showing all that well in the time sheet.

Engine mode more than likely.

I wouldnt be stressing the engine in a un-representative FP3 (due to time/temperature). Especially if the balance of the car is good.

The way that RB19 looked, it had way more fuel in it (especially VER did but would imagine PER followed a similar run plan). It looked lazy front end wise which it would do if it had been laden with fuel

And despite the laziness max did not complain at all which I think is the important point. GP offered max to do another push lap at end of fp3 and he said no so I don't think he needs to build confidence or change setup to dial out the understeer before quali

His first push lap with the hards were so great. I was watching his onboard, the car looked to handle better than other cars with softs. Then they told him to do 2 cooldown laps and push again but he couldn't find the same grip anymore.

I think that's the optimist/copium take  . AMR looks mighty quick and Alonso is in devastating form. I'm not convinced Verstappen is happy. I think he just decided to suck it up and drive. You can't change anything anymore.

Its funny because the haters of Max are out already and havent even had any competitive driving between them yet.

Watch there be a huge increase in Alonso fans when/if he starts to give Max competition.

To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

They're running the lower downforce for both cars for Quali

Ham's lower wing is working for mercedes on straights, not so much in high speed sections, as expected. verstappen really mucked up that last corner. It's fast becoming obvious he doesn't like it all that much.
