I don't believe we'll see a Singapore repeat - in terms of Mercedes being so off the pace - but I do think we might see a more competitive race than Japan with these tyres and this kind of track.

Agreed, if by "more competitive" you mean "closer but still a blowout"

Sector one has a high speed turn the rest of the turns are more or less exactly like in Singapore, that is, a lot of ~90 degree corners that are very difficult to put traction down on.

Sochi is a lot more like Monaco, than Singapore, the track is supper smooth with a normal ambient temperature.

Don't forget a lot of the turns are off camber as well, so putting down power is very tricky.

They say sochi has a good climate. It is not like the bleak Russia we know from novels and television; Sochi is close to Georgia and has a sub-tropical climate.

i remember sochi last year was so boring that i fell asleep watching it [literally] and then woke up mid-race and noticed it was still super boring and then i went and googled pictures of lee mckenzie and natalie pinkham to see which one i think would win in a f1 reporter battle and realised natalie pinkham is the 100% clear winner.

it was way more exciting than the actual sochi race. i'm expecting the same this year.
